From the Desk of Donald Rumsfeld
In Sometimes-Brusque 'Snowflakes,' He Shared Worldview, Shaped Policy

In a series of internal musings and memos to his staff, then-Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld argued that Muslims avoid "physical labor" and wrote of the need to "keep elevating the threat," "link Iraq to Iran" and develop "bumper sticker statements" to rally public support for an increasingly unpopular war.

So whats up with this?  No one gives a squat that rummy was trying to "create" a link bnetween iraq and iran, even after so many of us have been and still are being fooled into beilieving that al qaeda was linked to iraq?

shees!

Why is this not surprising?

It isn't news. Anyone who wasn't aware of the obvious before the invasion even started isn't likely to care now.

Im not a big Rumsfeld fan, but what he was basically saying is correct. Al Qaeda is a world wide coalition of extremist Muslim groups. That is why Bin Laden has been able to spread attacks worldwide. Anyone interested in how the operate should read a book called  " The base " by Jane Corbin.

To clarify, I meant it's obvious that the administration is trying to tie Iraq to Iran (Axis of Evil, anyone?), but yeah, it's also obvious that they ARE tied together. The reason the U.S. supported and armed Saddam's regime in the first place was to create a buffer against post-Revolution Iran (Iran and Iraq being historical rivals). Iran isn't supplying anti-occupation militants and fomenting sectarian tensions just for shits and giggles. They have a vested interest in the failure of the U.S. to stabilize the region.

afghanastan and iran are proxy wars.  At least until the taliban told england to shove their pipeline where the sun doesnt shine then it became personal.  Likewise with saddam and oil.   No one tells world superpower usa to shove it and gets away with it.

The next problem you have to deal with is something I have said a very long time ago and repeated several times.

Not only has OBL denied having anything to do with 911, but the fbi does not have him listed as wanted in connection with the wtc.  To my really simplistic way of thinking if he is NOT wanted for it then they have nothing on him that could be used in a "real" courtroom trial, not a political propaganda trial that this administration waged agaiinst him publically.

Then to add another little curve ball the senate intelligence committe declared that alqade has not been linked to iraq.  OOps!

It seems there is only one source that supports this while the rest of the world has shown this source to have fabricated these connections.

So what evidence do we then have to support the iran iraq connection when Mr snowflake himself is on recoird promoting this as a fabrication.

You want me to really believe these connections exist?

Real i dont recall there ever being talks between Britain and the Taleban for a pipeline. I am also suprised You say Bin Laden isnt wanted by the FBI.

you need to read what I said more carefully.

Yes he is wanted for other things I realize that but not the WTC which was the pretext used for the war in afghanastan and iraq..

The pipeline going through afghanastan to the best of myt knowledge is brit owned.  immediately after the war bp stations are on every corner now!

luckydog1 -> RE: Snowflakes - From the Desk of Donald Rumsfeld (Iraq - Iran) (11/4/2007 1:46:59 PM)

We have been through this many times before, so to state it very clearly(and really for other people reading this), after 911 Bush publically stated that he was treating terrorism and OBL as a war, not as a civilain criminal.  We are not after him to put him on trial.  BP stations on every corner?  where do you dream up this stuff?

What exactly are you distorting to get your claim about the US senate, thats a new one.  Lets put your claim on the Lucky go round, real

Politesub53 -> RE: Snowflakes - From the Desk of Donald Rumsfeld (Iraq - Iran) (11/4/2007 1:58:31 PM)

i think its splitting hairs to say Bin laden wasnt behind the WTC bombing, the Grand Jury did charge him with incitement but not the actual act. Read the book i mentioned and see just how is tied into almost every attack on America and elsewhere by Al Qaeda. Bin laden is the head so the buck stops with him surely.

As for the proposed Pipeline, it was Unicol who were on talks with the Taliban and not BP. Although BP may or may not be in talks with the current leadership.

Real0ne -> RE: Snowflakes - From the Desk of Donald Rumsfeld (Iraq - Iran) (11/4/2007 4:10:53 PM)

Do you have the minutes on that?  I need to see that with my own 2 eyes to see just how broad they had to go to make that statement because it goes against all the info I have dug up on it.

Real0ne -> RE: Snowflakes - From the Desk of Donald Rumsfeld (Iraq - Iran) (11/4/2007 8:06:58 PM)

Is this what you are talking about?  The only thing I can find on it ios all pre911

Laden charged with inciting violence against U.S. citizens

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Law enforcement sources tell CNN that Osama bin Laden has been charged in a sealed indictment with inciting violence against United States citizens prior to the recent bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

Also, the New York federal grand jury investigating Osama bin Laden was presented with evidence of financial links between bin Laden and an Islamic group based in Queens, sources said Monday.

Al Mahajirou, a Queens affiliate of a London based group by the same name, is believed to have been involved in money transfers with bin Laden.

The grand jury has been looking into links to various groups in New York, New Jersey and Michigan.

The United States accuses bin Laden of masterminding the bombing of U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The East African attacks prompted the United States to retaliate Thursday by firing missiles at a training camp for militants linked to bin Laden in eastern Afghanistan and at a pharmaceutical plant in Khartoum, Sudan.

All this stuff is on the fbi's wanted poster but not 911.  (no evidence according to muller)  and no evidence to tie al qaeda to iraq either.  big surprise LOL
