luckydog1 -> Democratic Party Sued by Consumer Advocate!!! (11/1/2007 10:56:34 PM)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Consumer advocate and 2004 independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader sued the Democratic Party on Tuesday, contending officials conspired to keep him from taking votes away from nominee John Kerry.
Nader's lawsuit, filed in District of Columbia Superior Court, also named as co-defendants Kerry's campaign, the Service Employees International Union and several so-called 527 organizations such as America Coming Together, which were created to promote voter turnout on behalf of the Democratic ticket.      http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jSJzOBT1G4nHh_7HFNBZLzNQVo-wD8SJQAP00

Isn't the whole point of elections to try and keep your opponents from getting votes?

Wonder if there could be a class action suit against the Dems for selling out progressive ideals, and for using false advertising to pretend to be different from the Repubs...[:D]

No, the point of elections is to have a choice.

Do you agree with "Democratic" efforts (pun intended) to keep Ralph Nader off of the ballots?

You guys DO know that Ralph Nader works for the Establishment?

We couldn't have seatbelt Laws TODAY, if not for his work 40 years ago.

No.

Do you agree with GOP dirty tricks employed to win elections such as:
Lieing about a candidates military service.
Using automated phone equipment to shut down a get out the vote effort.
Removing voters from the rolls without cause targeting minority communities.
GOP efforts to keep candidates off the ballot in both their own primaries and in general elections.
Destroying voter regitration forms of those wishing to register as democrats.
Violating 2 court orders preventing it from using "caging" to improperly purge minority voters.
Using "push polling" to spread a racist rumor against an adversary.
Sending letters to voters saying that if they voted they would be deported.
etc. etc. nearly ad infinitum.

Dom Ken, sounds like you got yourself a lawsuit there.  Get to work on it.  So I take it you have no comment on Nader's lawsuit?

Most of those have already been litigated with the GOP losing.

As I said I'm not favor of efforts to keep anyone off the ballot although the rest of Nader's suit is about attempts to keep people from voting for him in what appear to be quite legal methods which certainly doesn't sound like anything to sue over. I am interested in who is funding Nader's suit as I'm betting the money trail leads somewhere interesting.

Aren't those different threads? Why the sudden need to obfuscate. Even if you proved that little johnny did bad things too, Democrats conspiring to keep the only anti-war presidential candidate off of the ballot in several states is still unconscionable.

Don't you think?

Sorry to burst your bubble Sanity but I've decided that every time I come across some conservative bashing the Democratic party I'll simply return the favor. No more being above such things or bothering with any attempt at explaining. I'm simply going to present the same sorts of things done by the GOP but always affecting more people, more money or worse crimes. So far no one has ever found a scandal involving a Democratic politician I couldn't easily find a topper for. Only occasionally do I even need to go back as far as Raygun Ronnies disastrous reign to find my examples either. For example all the examples I made upthread involved 2004 and 2006 election cycles.

Johnny does it too isn't justification. The thing about it is, you're jumping off topic, and we'd have to dredge through each and every allegation that you are making... and it's just silly. Staying on-topic rather than jumping around to 2004 or to 2006 or to the Republicans or to the Independants is just a smokescreen. It's desperation.

Go Ralph Go!

Owner59 -> RE: Democratic Party Sued by Consumer Advocate!!! (11/2/2007 7:06:12 PM)

Ralph is no victim. His own party(the Green party) threw him out, lol. That`s right, even his own damm party that he helped start, gave him the toss!lol. He`s pure ego.

He`s more of a hack,and politician,then a consumer advocate.His relationship w/ republicans, is kinda sleazy too,and says more about him,than anything else.

He needs to get a life.

DomKen -> RE: Democratic Party Sued by Consumer Advocate!!! (11/2/2007 7:57:03 PM)

Funny how the so called conservatives want to post threads bashing Democrats and vehemntly blame everyone but GWB on threads about his various and sundry lies and failures whichalways includes plenty of pure cornfed bullshit about Kerry and Clinton but here I am telling the absolute truth about GOP activities and I'm being told its off topic. Now if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black.

Bush Supporters == So Called Conservatives == Neocon Party Whores.

They aren't "Conservatives" at all.
