ORIGINAL: bipolarber Oh, yeah, I trust a GOP wonk like him to handicap a race like this fairly. No doubt his opinion is "fair and balanced." Yes, Clinton took a couple of hits the other night, when the boys all started to bear bait her. But as of this writing, there are still 60 days to go before the Dem candidate is actually chosen. A lot can happen in 60 days. Personally, I'd love to see it be a Clinton/Romney runoff, with Huckabee being run as the religious right's "spoiler" candidate. You couln't buy that kind of entertainment! I think that's probably what we'll see, a Clinton/ Romney runoff. Guiliani just won't play too well in the South and in other parts of the country. McCain's out because of his "amnesty" stance, Thompson won't get many votes, I'm still waiting for Senator Abbadabba to start being "exciting." The Dems won Congress in 2006 on a promise of getting us out of Iraq but they only have about 1 year to make good on that promise. They'd better get moving! And incredulously Clinton is talking about having Troops there until 2013! Plus she voted for Bush's "amnesty" just voted for the "Dream Act" (another "amnesty") and she supports Prince Eliot's liscences for illegal aliens in New York when 72% of New Yorkers are against it! You just can't go against the wishes of so many of the American People and be elected never mind all the "negatives" she has built in. Plus, I still don't know what Hillary Clinton "stands for!" I mean what exactly does Hillary Clinton stand for? Does anyone know? Going to "WELLESLY" college the other day surely didn't help her! Like that will get her the endorsement of The Teamsters! Or the Iron Workers Union. Sheesh! "The U.S. Senate, where Presidential aspirations go to die." Governors have a *much* better record of being elected President than do Senators. Senators are far too "removed" from the People. Look at the number of Governors who became President; Bush 1, Bush 2, Carter, Reagan, Clinton. I think the last President who was elected from the Senate was Kennedy. And I'm an Independant voter but I just wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton and I suspect that that's true for most other Independants as well. Without the Independant vote you can't win.
