This is a rant. Today is October 30th and already I've seen three TV commercials related to Christmas. This ticks me off like you wouldn't believe. No wonder kids consider Christmas nothing more than the season for give me, give me, give me. They get two full months of being bombarded with Christmas commercials, a high percentage aimed at them.

I could go on and on here, but I won't. End of rant.

I guess China doesn't think so. Perhaps that's how they plan to decrease their population.

When I was in Home Despot two weeks ago, they had all their fake Christmas trees and lawn abominations on display already.

I was riding my bike last Wednesday, OCT 24th and I saw two houses with Christmas lights up!
In October! WTF!
I felt like going over and unplugging them. lol

Maybe we should give "different" types of gifts this year that detour around big conglomerates like Mattel and other companies that make cheap plastic junk in China and mark it up 10,000 %.
A friend suggested buying toys and gift items from local Artisans, that type of thing.
I'm all for that idea! Locally made leather bondage items would always be a great idea.
And, if SusanofO gets her Fudge Factory going I'll give that as a gift too.
Any thoughts or suggestions on that?
I read an article a few weeks ago on Yahoo News about how small toymakers are overwhelmed by orders this year after all this dangerous stuff comming out of China.

local Walgreens here has their Christmas crap on display next to the Halloween stuff (which was already marked down).  my youngest has turned into a monster telling me what she wants Santa to bring her.
