Nosathro -> Iraq Mosul Dam may collaspe 500,000 endangers (10/30/2007 10:27:47 AM)

According to The Washington Post, the largest dam in Iraq, the Mosul Dam is in danger of collapsing, at risk is 500,000 lives and putting part of Baghdad under 15 feet of water.  This Dam was part of the US reconstrution project for Iraq, some 27 million US dollars have been spent on attempts to repair the dam.  Most however, like so many other projects the US in Iraq is marred in mismanagement and incompetence by the US companies contracted in Iraq.  In fact the money and repaires according to the article were not intended to fix the dam.

That is a clever way to kill a lot of Iraqi's. When will they execute the collapse? Who is in charge of this subterfugious attack?

Well, if the dikes in Louisianna couldn't be repaired, I doubt they are going to be up for a dam anywhere.

Maybe they'll fly radio controlled passenger jets into it or set off the munitions that were hidden inside it when it was built.

I'm sure Osama's mates will be very grateful to The Washington Post for this snippet.

I wonder how many (if any) soldiers are up there, defending the dam from the now inevitable attack?

I heard about this on the BBC World Service. Apparently the dam has been neglected for decades and is in serious danger according to the experts. The US has just got stuck with it on their watch. This is the problem if you occupy a country, everything that happens or might happen is your fault. Bush and co should have thought about that.

Seems to me, the people living downstream from the dam have a problem which they need to take care of.

Why should I give a shit?

Well, you me and the other tax payers shelled out some 27 million US dollars to repair the dam, most went into mismanagement of the US companies involved in fixing the dam.  Just like so many other project the US is funding in Iraq.  Now what was the amount Bush is asking for some 40 Billion Dollars more to rebuild Iraq?

Well, since the US has occupied Iraq, you have a responsibility of care whether you like it or not. Now open your wallet and pay your taxes, the occupied citizens of Iraq need your money![:)]

There have been problems with this dam from the day it was built. I am guessing the insurgents are all too aware, but its not in their interest to target the whole Mosul valley.

Spending more of our money ain't going to fix it.

Send the invoice to the RNC. It's their fucking mess, let them pay for it.

Ok, here's the deal. The US Troops come home over the next 30 days, leaving behind everything Humvee sized or smaller.

THAT SURPLUS is our reparations. Have fun collecting the stuff, and reselling it, or using it, or whatever.

There's gotta be 100 billion in small arms laying around. They should do ok.
