If online fantasies are your thing, you are welcome to it. It's not my thing, but I am not you so my opinion isn't terribly important. You should probably try to make sure that your intentions are clear to those that you "play" with, however, as to not have misunderstanding.

Some people might give you shit for your preferences. In my experience, however, there is always some pretensious git that is around to be a naysayer, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. :)

As long as you have no confusion about online fantasies being equivilent in any way to real world experience, I see absolutely no problem. I'd like to clarify that I am not making statements about validity or value, simply that online versus real life are simply not comparable, they are different animals.

If it makes you happy, that's what really matters, no?

You have a valid point.  Online things can be easily misunderstood, however, if you are clear in your discussions it should all be clear the difference between online and real life.  True .. regardless of any of our opinions its about what you happy not anyone else.

Hi all

Im new. Not just to this site but to bdsm communities. I have spoken in the past to individuals and have been to many chatrooms and of course have partaken in select fantasies in real life but i have never before attempted to visit a community.

Now i have done so i would like to get an opinion of the masses.

My chosen path, when it comes to bdsm, is to continue my more extreme fantasies online and therefore tend to ask/get offered online relationships.
Joining a site like this of course when asked i would explain that i am only interested in an online relationship.

My question is, is that generally frowned on? Do you all have a deep disliking for people like me who enjoy online scene play, in some respects more than the real thing.

In other words, am i likely to be welcome here?

(Please bear in mind i am not trolling nor do i plan to and i am not asking for anyone to scene with me. This is a genuine question with no hidden motives.)

Thanks
manlock

You'll get a lot of people who want to wank off with you-maybe half will be women. The rest will just be guys playing women. Read the profiles-if the girls say they want real-don' bother them. Time wasters usually are not welcome-we already have far too many flooding the mailboxes with meaningless crap.

Online play is only as fulfilling as the trust you have in the other person.

I've done it before with a couple of women, I was very into but rarely got to see and enjoyed it thoroughly.  Of course, it also gave us ideas for when we met r/l and that never hurts.

Most people prefer to meet eventually and try stuff in real life. But most shouldn't concern you, because you only need one to play online with.

And yes there are people who only do online. People who are in unfulfilling marriages sexually but with good partners whom they love in other ways. People with illnesses that don't have the strength to meet. People who have too much on their plate to take on more than half an hour nightly.

Good luck finding one who fits you.

I think what will get you more "hatin'" that most is if you pretend your online life is your real life. Meaning, you pretend that the role playing you do online is a real-time experience. It's not. You have real-time emotional responses to the online experience and so they DO have meaning, but hanging by hooks in a chatroom is a far cry from hanging by hooks in real life.

Personally I have had some great online experiences and some Long distance but the key is you have to seperate them from your "real life" and not intertwine them....especially when it comes to online vs. real life.....once they start to mix then it all goes to poo........just my opinion....Just dont sacrifice yourself and dont expect too much
