Slender Georgia Horsley, who has been crowned Miss England, has been told to pile on the pounds if she wants to win the world title.

The size eight florist who tips the scales at nine stone has the figure most women would die for - but the organisers of the Miss World competition are looking for a contestant with more curves to win this year.

Georgia is now on a high fat diet to help her plump up in time for the beauty pageant.

The blonde 20-year-old, from Malton, North Yorks, is hoping she will pile on the pounds for the competition in Sanya, China, on December 1.

She said: "Miss World judges like naturally curvy girls and don't like the stick-thin women you see on the catwalks.

"They promote healthy eating and I want to help them get that message across, so I'm giving it my all."

The pretty hopeful was advised to put on weight by Miss England director Angie Beasley, who is a former model and Miss World judge.

Miss Beasley, 44, said: "Beauty pageants are meant to appeal to women everywhere and Miss World has always championed real women."

As well as gorging on high-fat treats, Georgia's diet will include healthy meals and snacks.

Her diet will include fish suppers, nuts and plenty of avacados, all of which contain fatty oils essential for model-perfect skin and hair.

Georgia says she is hoping her mother's home cooking will help her go up a dress size.

She said: "My friends are amazed at how much I eat.

"I love chocolate and am hopeless at diets. I guess I'm lucky and just have a naturally fast metabolism."

Georgia has only 10 days to put on weight before she has to be in the Far-East to register for the month-long contest.

WOW...and not a single response!

Funny thing is, as Level knows.....she'd do so much better not worrying about the fat and just eating more veggies, and perhaps some good, whole-wheat bread or pasta!  Fruit, too.

I wonder how she did...

What's this a beer belly contest or something?
I think she looks great just the way she is at 126 lbs!
She should tell them to piss off.

I for one am happy they are starting to look tword women who are a "normal" size.. and not twigs.. the pagents had gotten so bad women were having thier floating ribs removed because they were too fat with them. My Niece is on the pagent circut.. and I have seen much of what happens to these girls. I have seen her and other contestants starve themselves to the point of passing out and near heart failure to "look right" in the bathing suits, and tight gowns. It got to a point where a size 2 was seen as a size 6 back in the good old days.

I do not see where this particular girl needs to add any.. but I am glad they are not going for the anorixic look any more in the world comps.

I have seen too many of these girls do awful things to themselves to "be on top"

I have to agree that Miss Horsley is beautiful just as she is. Although I am, myself, a "big girl," I don't like to see anyone have to change their body size -- up or down -- to please the masses. I do, however, believe that the size 0 models are just downright unhealthy, and most of them starve themselves to get or stay that way; that is my opposition. But if Miss Horsley is healthy at her current weight, then she shouldn't have to "fatten up" to please anyone.

Here's what she should have told them:

Hey Beverly; I agree 100% about the fat and veggies, and if she doesn't have issues with insulin resistance, then some fruit, but I would never advise anyone to eat bread or pasta ever again. No nutritional value, and it's like pure sugar once it goes in your body.

I hope the young lady did well; I need to look and see [8|]

Some people are just naturally thin as some are naturally thick[:D]

FangsNfeet -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (12/31/2007 7:42:26 PM)

It's nice to know that England belives that it's possible for one to be "to thin."

After all, England is the country that wants to see a Slim Santa. They also want a Weight Loss Help Line tag on every pair of paints that over 40 inches in the waist.

Aneirin -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (12/31/2007 10:59:14 PM)

I do not like fashions for thin, and this starving thing is not what I like.My kind of woman is a natural woman, fat in the right places, but a woman that looks after her health.I see it this way, though I am not muscle bound, my jjob does not require it, I look after myself.I see myself larger than I should be, then I do something about it.I hope women are the same and so appear natural.

hisannabelle -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (12/31/2007 11:07:18 PM)

greetings level (and all),

i too am glad the beauty industry is starting to look towards healthier examples...but this woman IS HEALTHY. unless they have proof she is starving herself to win beauty contests, i find it just as offensive that they are telling her to fatten up as how most women are basically told to lose weight to fit into jobs or contests.

i am so happy that the beauty industry is starting to come to its senses...but banning thin models from the catwalk and healthy (at least healthy-looking, if on the thin side) beauty queens is not necessarily the answer. i mean, yes, banning models with underweight bmis might be an incentive to some to get help...but why not actually attack things that are contributing TO the problem, like ad campaigns such as the one in the latest posts on this blog: http://everywomanhasaneatingdisorder.blogspot.com/ or, y'know, doing some actual, real, healthy body image education in schools, or actually trying to get underweight models and beauty contestants who are sick into treatment, or, well, doing something rather than always making it someone else's problem? it's like saying, "we have cancer, let's suture it."

respectfully,
annabelle.

Rushemery -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (1/1/2008 6:43:13 AM)

eating fat, bread, pasta - will put it in the wrong places---they all do have their places in everyones diet but I would recomend eating more protien and working out to sculpt her body to the right curves as for becomming muscle bound it takes a lot of work and dedication to get big, its a great stress reducer and a positive influence on wee ones who need it

takeitallin -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (1/2/2008 7:23:04 AM)

Would that be Lyndie England the former reserve military policewoman that became a patsy so that a dyke Brigadier General and others who ordered the torture she carried out could walk away scot free?

kitttty -> RE: Miss England told to "fatten up" (1/2/2008 11:05:12 AM)

Why are they bothering this girl? She's ok looking.

England should tell Keira Knightly and skeleton spice to fatten up before they go after anyone else.
