He was interviewing with Glen Beck on CNN.  I almost didn't recognize him. Every once in awhile you could see the "old" George glint in his eyes.

He was quite the looker in his Hippy Dippy Weatherman days.  I hate seeing things like this.  One of those things that reminds us that we are getting older and makes me wonder what "I" look like to those who knew me when.

Considering his history of drug abuse and heart problems, George's pretty damn lucky to be as old and healthy as he is. Either God has one hell of a sense of humor or the Devil needs Geroge to stay a little longer for a scheme of things.

Whatever the reasons, I'm glad that GC is alive and doing well. A brilliant comedians not only have you laugh, but they also cause you to think and question.

greetings

only a man would say a silly thing a horrible thing like that, now mind everyone i did not read the post but to say rape is funny is just crazy. i remember sometime ago they made a moive that had a officer who handle woman who had been raped. he was not very kind to this these and just did not care, but then he was raped but a group of men . i remember the shame and horroe they show on his face and how the other police person treat him. it was a lesson learned and he change and understood . now i know he is a funny guy i do love his work . but this is not something i can laugh at, i was present when a friend who was late coming home and she had been beaten and raped. this man run up behind her and punch her so hard in the stomach she could not even scream if she could. he beat her face until it was the size of a basket ball when the police came they ask her was it her boyfriend , and where were her panties i know now what they need then for but it was so shocking then they the officers were so mean and i scream she just been raped no she does not have a boyfriend , i know he thought is was funny, but she was so destroy by this she never got over it they never got him . she die 4 years ago and was never the same kind sweet woman i know she tried so hard to forgot but she never trust the race of the man who raped her i miss her so so much and he told me later that the man who did this hung himself in jail . i do not know if it help to know this for her but it help me.\\

my story has a point jokes about rape is something that for the victims we never can laugh at  it i wonder how she would had been if he had not did this ?

she was my sister

mons, I have to agree here. I like Carlin but I think I'll pass on that one.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Kinda makes me think, hmmm, I have a sister, what if ? Raping someone is bad a f*cking nuff, but to beat them as well ? I mean more than required for submission ? Well, what do you expect from a sub-human animal ? I firmly believe that the desire to rape anyone (who is unwilling) is unnatural and not a human desire. Even animals seem to pair up, not just rape. They may go into heat, but then they are willing at that point. So a rapist might even be considered sub-animal. In "my" world you sister's assailant would not only be executed, he would be machine raped. Actually to death. He would never get the chance to kill himself.

I remember that movie. I don't recall checking your profile, but you have indeed dated yourself talking about that one (umm so have I now). It was in the 70s. I can't recall the name of it, but even back then when I was wild (I never had the desire to rape anyone BTW), I liked the story line. This guy was a prick, but was he a prick to robbery and other victims ?

My memory of the movie is spotty, and I admit that the girl tied up in the van was a turnon at first, but when this guy gets there he is like "Come on". Now here she is tied up like that, there was probably just a car chase, bullets flying around and shit and she can't duck or anything. WTF that experience must be like. Then the cop walks in finally and has an attitude like when you report your car stolen or a lost wallet.

I liked a movie called "I Spit On Your Grave". A Woman from NY is vacationing in the stix and gets gang raped. I don't know what kind of background she had (the character) but she managed to find and kill all the perps. I haven't seen "Deliverance", I heard it is similar, but it was a guy who got raped.

I am going to have to watch that video. I don't think I'll like it, I have liked alot of Carlin's sayings and whatever in the past. I just don't see how this can be any good, but even if it's bad, I want to see it anyway. If it blows my currently good opinion of Carlin, then it does. But he will have done it with his own mouth.

I'll be baaack.

Trapped,
I met George Carlin when I was an undergrad..I was on Program Board (is Program Board still an organization at GW?)..

I was walking into the Smith Center helping get ready for his show, and bumped right into him.. Asked him for a hug.. The show was awesome..  My husband and I have always been big fans of his and have seen him once or twice here as well..

I thought I had already posted this.

I watched that video and I must say I am impressed. He managed to do it without being offensive, and even sticking up for victims in a way.
