NEW YORK (AP) - Stolen 20 years ago, pulled from a trash heap 16 years later, going up for bid next month. It's the journey taken by a brightly colored 1970 painting (titled "Tres Personajes") by Mexican artist Ruvino Tamayo. The painting was a stolen from a Houston warehouse in 1987. A New York woman rescued it from a pile of garbage during her morning walk on Manhattan's Upper West Side four years ago. An official with Sotheby's says the painting could fetch up to a million dollars when it's put up for auction on November 20th. Elizabeth Gibson, the woman who found the painting, stands to collect a $15,000 reward that was offered when the painting was first reported stolen, along with a percentage of the eventual sale price.
