Does she have a history of sexual abuse? It sounds very much like a dissociative state.

why does dissociation have to be bad or related to sexual abuse?

yes, i was sexually abused and yes, i have DID, and yes when a trauma trigger is pushed i often go into a dissociative state..
BUT
the main goal of subspace for me is not the endorphin release, but to get to a good, warm, fuzzy dissociative state...and its entirely different than when i am forced there by a trauma trigger...just like pain is entirely different when you're in a scene and being hit with a cane and when you stub your toe...

to the OP...yes, i totally get off on objectification...it can get me to subspace faster than pain...oh and just one more thing...14 minutes in the middle of the day on a monday is not really enough time to give people to respond...we have lives too....

chelle...

Sounds just like another type of subspace- it's not the first time I've heard of someone experiencing like this.  Why do people think subspace has to be ONE particular type of experience, or that a person can only have ONE form of it their entire lives?

One slave would completely revert to different "sides".  Her sides seemed to be largely due to a past trauma.  Many of them were quite child-like with the exception of sexual activity.  It was more the innocence and requirement for affection and approval.  This slave was a particularly bright individual; I often attribute the extent of her condition to the capability of her mind to maintain the split.

She.. eventually became mentally unstable due to reasons I can't quite understand.  I'm unsure how much of it was an act all along, even if a convincing one, for the six months I had her.

Sounds like fun. I wonder if a girl could mannage it without all of the aftercare.

That would be even more fun.[;)]

Dnomyar -> RE: Object space??? (10/23/2007 8:03:20 AM)

A type of Astro Projection. The person may not be aware of what they are doing. I have had a couple of interesting experiences with it.

Pernicious -> RE: Object space??? (10/23/2007 8:09:36 AM)

It would be nice to separate the mystical from the actual if we hope to understand it.

Why is there a name for every state of mind and who is to say that subspace can be defined as the same for everyone that experiences it?

Thats what i was thinking...I have Dissociative Personality Disorder. I went through several years of therapy and am now fully intergraded. However until very recently i still had the ability to "go away" I was however "fully functional" i could talk and respond and such..."I" would have no memory of it. Its strange...sorry if this confused anyone...lol

hhmmmmm.................

Fair point here actually.  The need to categorize and build a heirachy is not always helpful..

seangrey -> RE: Object space??? (10/23/2007 8:33:18 AM)

There were so many great responses here.  Thank you all.  I don't fully understand it, but I would be curious to try to find commonality of experience and try to establish a kind of global understanding of subspace experiences kind of like Kinsey did with sexuality.  I wish a real research psychologist would take this issue on, but alas...

LadyHugs -> RE: Object space??? (10/23/2007 5:21:10 PM)

Dear seangrey, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Perhaps discussing this situation with a kink friendly mental health professional might be worth consideration.

I will just say, the mind is very powerful and controls the host body with great skill and remains one of the most amazing mysteries.

I do pick up on the terms of 'permission to go away.'  To me that seems language for some disassociation.  I would think if the mind wanted to remain tethered to the 'act' or 'behaviors' of which you want to participate with--is when she is aware of it fully and 'there'--not disassociated from you and your choices of activities.  The whys, hows, when, wheres of your lass' ability to manipulate mind, body, emotion and behaviors are best left for those who have studied it and have a license to tinker in the human mind.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs
