So, here I was dreaming innocently when all of a sudden..... nightmare time! Quite fitting considering the Holiday approaching.

I was in this video game type thing (how nerdy am I) and I was hurting these three boys (one who happens to be a friend of mine) by spitting this poison on them that ate away at their organs some how. It's a dream, doesn't have to make sense. One of the boys died after vomiting a lot of blood. It was just awful.

Then....there was this noise. Death. Now, if you've ever play Silent Hill, you'll totally get this. So, here I am racing trying to hide from Death. No matter where I go I can't escape it. The noise continues to follow me. Suddenly, I am in this very large room. Death is there. She is a beautiful asian woman with these two very sharp mean looking swords. The two remaining boys are their pleading their case with her. Explaining to her how awful I was to them and why I deserved to pay.

To make this short and to save ya'all some rather not so pretty images...She ends up torturing me. I end up telling her "Look, I'm young I was just playing a game and this was what you were supposed to do. I've played before" at this point she laughs and decides to have mercy on me. She tries to cut off my head, but my armor is too strong. I end up end up being her play thing for quite a while.

I woke up having a panic attack. That sucked. Literally, I couldn't catch my breath until I looked around and knew I was safe.

I'd like to know the worst nightmare you've ever had. Or the worst you're comfortable sharing. I think this should be quite interesting.

Worst nightmare I've ever had... Hmm...  That's a nightmare I had when I was very young where my mother turned into a monster and climbed a tree.  It doesn't sound very scary, but it FREAKED me out.

Worst recent nightmare I had was when I was staying with my Owner some night, and in the dream I was being chased by something through a very dark house.  Finally, I hid in a bathroom and curled into a ball in fear as it began to bash the door down.  I woke up, panicked, and even squealed.  I've never reacted that badly to a dream in years.  Luckily she was there to cuddle me until I went back to sleep.

...that story doesn't do much for my masculinity...but it's pretty cute. :-p

*huggles* I'm sorry you had such a bad nightmare. Have you started any new medications lately? Sometimes that can cause those. I have violent nightmares almost every single time I sleep now. ((((((((((((((((((( Neala ))))))))))))))))))))))

Worst one was when I was a kid.... I dreamed I was in the little hallway, located at the back of our house, standing by the telephone, when through the front door, came a vampire......... he was gliding towards me......... well, I woke up, standing in the back hallway, by the phone, in the dark.

If only I could run now as I could then, I'd win an Olympic medal.......

One that I've had a few times in which I'm murdered (stabbed to death) inside the house I now live in.  I've always had a fear of knives so this one really gets to me.  For several months now, I've also had a tendency, like hermione83, to have violent, gory dreams that often involve disaster and/or death on a massive scale.

Lady you are sick and twisted, in a good way. The Human mind has a dark side which due to its extreme primal nature needs to be placated, we do this in a lot of ways, watching violent movies, or playing games in which we get to kill people, (personally I'm a GTA fan nothing like preforming a drive-by in a Semi on a trailer park, take that hillbillies). If you dont let it out you'll end up like Charles Manson.
I'd rather not talk about my nightmares think you very much.

Being sick and twisted is fun?

Well, my favorite movies are horror movies and Hannibal Lector totally does it for me....

That would explain a lot.

When I was a child I had a repetitive dream where I was lost, running through bony dumps.  It was a dark and scary dream because I never knew who was chasing me, it filled me with dread.

Severl weeks ago I had this dream we were inside our house which is this old wood frame cracker house and we were attacked by cardassians, and since the house is made of wood the bullets were flying right though the wall so I climbed in the bathtub with the barrett (dont ask me how I managed to get it out of the closet and put it together) and then some how lions got into the house and I dont remember much else now but it was really weird and a bit scary.....

Mine usually involve vampires, or being chased by that unknown monster, running in slow motion, knowing it's RIGHT BEHIND ME!!!!  Lately tho, I've been having lots of dreams where I'm back in the Army, and am trying to load my weapons with ammo, but it's not the right kind or caliber.  Last night,in the dream, we actually had to assemble it, and there was no poweder in the rounds, just a brass piece that wrapped around the bullet, and then was sealed with this white glue substance.  Never did end up shooting anyone with it tho.....not really a nightmare, but just wierd.

The vampire ones are the worst.....but i love the movies!  And surprisingly enough, the movies don't trigger the nightmares.  I can't wait to see "30 days of night!"

Had 2 recurring nightmares as a child, in the first I was walking into a forest following a railway track, and I come to a clearing beside the tracks and there is a, like a big round galvanised iron water tank with a bung in the side and its tipped upside down, and on the tracks there is a man tied up, and I hear the train comming and blowing its horn and the guy is screaming and i stand there and watch him get run over simply because I'm too scared to do anything else... had this dream at about 5, even now the sound of an unseen train blowing its horn makes me shiver.
The second i had at about 9 or 10, I dreamed that my house where I lived was up on stilts and it was caged in underneath, and thats where my dad kept Aboriginal people ( don't ask me why, I have no idea) and that on the full moon they turned into, I guess werewolves, anyway in each dream, I'd have let them out of the cages and then they would start telling me to run that they couldn't control themselves, so I would run ( the long way  ) around the house, with these werewolves on my heels... for the longest time I did really shit in class and was depressed because I'd only get 2 or 3 hours sleep a night because I'd spend my nights huddled in my bed in fear of these werewolves...

My nightmares normally have one theme and its not ordinary, velociraptors, I watched Jurassic Park when I was young and since then I won't go outside at night unless my paranoia of the raptors is gone. Several of the dreams have been about me at my place of work, I work with dogs at a pet resort, so it normally ends up me being out in the yard with the dogs early in the morning and we hear rustling in the trees outside the fence. Next thing I know the raptors are hopping the 6 foot fence and trying to eat me and the dogs in my care for breakfast.. I always .. always wake up after the raptors make their appearence.... can't get back to sleep after that either.. and its normally on the days I work morning shift

Hmm.  Considering nearly every dream I can recall is actually a nightmare, it's not quite so easy to say which was the worst.

I've dreamt that:
- I was drowning
- I was captured by some huge furry beast on two legs that proceeded to gnaw all of the flesh from my left arm slowly
- I was hunting and killed family, friends, and lovers [in various settings]
- I was being disemboweled [anyone remember the Shiver story I posted?]
- I was burning alive
- beetles were forced into my eyes and burrowed into my skull
- I systematically severed my fingers with a thick-bladed knife coated with old, dried bloodstains
- I was guillotined
- I had some bizarre accident directly resulting in the death of one of my children
- I was flayed by being repeatedly thrown into large pits filled with thousands of tiny shards of glass

That's the ones I recall off the top of my head.  There are worse that I'm probably just not cognizant enough to pull from the dark parts of my brain at the moment [I'm writing and therefore distracted].  Take your pick.

I was at a beach and in the distance I saw this wall of water heading towards us. We all ran up the beach as fast as we could but the sound of roaring waves was steadily getting louder and louder like white noise rasping into my ears and through my mind. The shadow of water loomed over us as we ran; day almost turning to night. Then the weight of the water fell down upon me, knocking me to the ground and crushing me into the sharp silica sand. The water unlike water but more a viscous soup of gravity held me down firmly. I crawled up the beach; my movements hindered by the weight of water above and all the time my flesh tearing against the sharp sand as I struggled to move an inch.

Then I woke up.

(edit: my dreams feature bad spelling too)
