There is this thought that if someone is not supporting the war then they are not supporting the troops. By not supporting the war you are disrespecting all the people over there as well as their families. That you are undermining the 'American Way Of Life' , all because you don't support the war.

He should not apologize at all. He does not serve at the behest nor under the command of Bush, unless things have changed drastically since I learned how government is SUPPOSED to work.

The statement was inflammatory, but so what ? This is what we are paying him for.
