Some may call this offensive I call it the Appliance of Science Take a shit at the bottom of the garden and leave the flies to enjoy a banquet.Guaranteed to work ! Adding: this approach has recycling/fertilizing advantages too, so it is triply beneficial

get a bug zapper for your kitchen. Nothing more satisfying than that pop. Febreeze kills them in the air.

I've had the little buggers camp out in plower pots and got the advice to stick a cigarette butt in the soil. It worked!

Tobacco is a good choice, and if you want to go for a green and non toxic alternative, use citronella oil. You can purchase green candles, or buy the essence and simply add to some dried flowers and dot them around the house, especially near food sources because they will keep away from the surrounding area.
