I am new to collarme, I tried one of the chat rooms and discovered that if you are a newbie to this site and have slow typing skills that is not the place to be!
The regulars in the room made me feel very shitty because I wasn't aware of "etiquette". All it did for me was reinforce my desire for one-on-one communication.
I may look into one of the chatrooms again but just to observe the interaction not to participate. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Hello Olderblack,

Welcome to CM.
I dont think your experience in the chatroom is a one off. Most chat rooms that have been established for a long period of time usually have their cliquey members. Is sad to say but this is usally the case hence why i choose to chat in a different venue, but i do wish you luck.

Peace to you
elle

I am also new to collarme but have had the same experience in several chatrooms, so in answer to your question. No, you are not the only one that feels lost in the jungle of cyber space. I also desire one on one for the same reason. Maybe one of the regulars will see this and at least give a guideline on the "etiquette" of a particular room, or at least be inviting when new people join in.

The regulars in the room made me feel very shitty because I wasn't aware of "etiquette". If you look at the paragraph and read it carefully before you enter, that helps to clear up some of the ettiquette.
I was made to feel shitty one of my first times in a chat room here, fixed it, and only go in there now on a rare day.
All it did for me was reinforce my desire for one-on-one communication. You can find plenty of that here on cm, enjoy!

Welcome to Cm and to the forums!

You will see my answers above in bold and color,
