So... I guess "Bottom" from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" doesn't really qualify as ponyplay then?

I have been doing pony-play actively since 1990 and in my experience pony-boys (colts) are by far the largest group of ponies, followed by TV ponies (geldings), then pony-girls; with quite a few 'magic mares' too (TS ponies) ...

But in my experience both male and female pony drivers/handlers/owners and also the colts, geldings and fillies all prefer to lok at photos of pony-girls.

The only ones who want to see photos of pony-boys are the gay males, and sadly a few of them are clearly seeking photos of too-young colts ...

So the internet is swamped by pony-girl photos, but at events the ratio is more probably 5 colts, 3 geldings 1 filly and one magic mare, or similar ...

I am by no means an authority on this subject, aside from having played with a ponyboy once... and thuroughly enjoying it.

I think you may not hear about ponyboys as much because, well, they simply don't get as much press. Pony play is pretty, women are pretty... men can still make a pretty pony (my friend does!), but as a general rule, woman are on average more photogenic.

I linked a more knowledgeable friend to this thread, so I'll see if he'll pop in.

I am a pony. And a male one at that. We have been to a couple of organized pony weekends and take advantage of any opportunity we get to play. While I have met a few other ponyboys, at the events we have attended the overwhelming majority have been ponygirls.

And I have never met a pony who was being "forced" to do it. Every one has been a pony for the love of being a pony. For me (and I think for most) ponyspace is very different from sub/pain/endorphin space.

So yeah, we're out here.
