MidMichCowboy -> Missing Profile Information (10/15/2007 4:58:41 PM)

I was chatting with a lovely lady the other day and I mention a very important piece of information that I feel should be talked about before any relationship. What kind of bed do you prefer? Now, I like a pillow top bed. Others like water beds, firm mattresses, those air beds, Swedish foam beds or whatever. What kind of bed do you like? What other very important information should be included in our profiles?  J

I know this seems the simple answer, but it also strikes me as the most pertinent:  whatever you consider appropriate for your profile should go into it.  It's your profile, after all. [;)]

Seriously, I can't think of another answer that would ring true without also being generic.

MsSophie -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/15/2007 5:07:19 PM)

Just a quick question...
What on earth is a "Swedish foam bed"?

bandit25 -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/15/2007 6:01:59 PM)

Pillow top beds are nice but when faced with the choice of any bed or the floor?  I'll take the bed!

freyjasdottir -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/15/2007 7:36:40 PM)

I love my pillow top, left a bonfire early the other night because I wanted MY bed.

Celeste43 -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/15/2007 7:42:47 PM)

Swedish foam = http://www.tempurpedic.com/

Pillow top with an egg crate mattress pad on top, down pillows, down comforter, Egyptian cotton sheets with above 300 thread count.

Oh yeah, my pillow is a hard limit. I made that clear from the beginning. He can have his choice of all the rest but this one is mine. I take it with me when traveling.

MsSophie -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 1:17:41 AM)

Thanks, Celeste! We call them "Tempurmadrass" and though you see them advertised every so often (mainly in the weeklies) I've never seen one, nor met anyone who confesses to owning one. Funny how things do better outside it's country of origin...

Personally I prefer another bed, also Swedish produced ( http://www.hastens.com ) and I want lots of pillows and whoever I share it with to stay off my duvet!

pahunkboy -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 3:51:11 AM)

bingo on the thread count of the cotton sheets! tho 450 550 is better.

Dnomyar -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 9:47:02 AM)

Ok everyone what kind of sheets. Satin ect.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 9:50:33 AM)

For me:
Jersey sheets, or satin ones
at least 4 pillows
must have a blanket or I wont sleep
Firm mattress prefered, but waiting pateitly until I can justify the expense of a sleep number bed
Angel and Fox get their own blankets if they sleep over... they are thieves

camille65 -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 9:58:14 AM)

I'm in love with my bed. So are my friends and ex husband lol. I often get a knock at the door asking to spend the night simply so they can enjoy The Bed. It is a king sized pillow top, I added a down mattress topper so that you just sink into loveliness. 8 down pillows of assorted density and yes I do indulge in my bedding. I tried one of those Swedish egg carton thingies and ugh, just ugh. It felt rock hard to me and it was not easy to roll over! Gimme my super cozy fluffy delishish bed any day! Erm or night. Or day and night yeah.

GhitaAmati -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 11:04:21 AM)

We have....your old standard box springs and fairly firm posturpedic mattress on our bed....then on top of that is a 10" deep futon mattress...then on top of that is one of those down mattress toppers. Then egyptian cotton sheets and lots of pillows. I use a box weave cotton blanket all year long. Its mine...Sir uses a quilt. In the winter he gets rid of the quilt and we both use a down comforter, he uses it by itself but I still have my cotton blanket on first...I cant sleep without it...I take it camping and everywhere we go...We get the best of both worlds...its a nice soft cozy bed, but you dont really sink too far because of the firm mattress underneath...so doesnt cause as much back pain as super soft sinky beds give Sir...without being so hard that I cant sleep cause I really like the super soft sinky beds...when he is in Iraq I get rid of the firm mattress and pull the featherbed out of storage and just sink down in the middle and sleep all day and night,,,erhm..well..I would...if the UMs would stop expecting breakfast in the morning....

mnottertail -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 11:05:25 AM)

Why is all this information missing from your profile, why do you hide it?

Ron

GhitaAmati -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 11:14:16 AM)

hmm..thats a good question Ron..what other info do you think we should all disclose immediatly on our profiles? I think all the guys should immediantly post their bank account balances, the last date they washed dishes on, when their bed sheets were last washed, what type of neighborhood they live in, what type of car they drive..whether or not it is clean....and their average paycheck amounts....would make hunting for guys much easier for us chicks....

adoracat -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 3:48:04 PM)

my bed...king sized pillowtop with a 3 inch tempurpedic mattress topper

since i'm ultra picky about the bedding, nothing matches.  *grins*  flannel bottom sheet, 300 thread count 100% cotton  top sheet (its actually two twin sheets sewn together, SOMEONE is a blanket/sheet thief) with a quilt on top, and a cotton blanket on his side of the bed.

we're both picky about our pillows and so we dont ever trade off.

(fast reply to OP)

I've become a big fan of the new Hilton and Marriott beds.  Oh man, are they comfy.  Not too soft and not too firm.

My current mattress (no box spring, it's a platform bed) is a bit thrashed and should be replaced soon.  Not looking forward to the search for a happy mattress.

angelikaJ -> RE: Missing Profile Information (10/16/2007 6:38:03 PM)

my preferred bedsheets are made of Modal (from beechwood fiber) very soft and silky...(the downside is that the fabric is a bit fragile)

as to my profile...it is still very much incomplete...
