For me, in general photography & play are two different things. On occasion I've shot some play pics, but usually I either play or do a photoshoot (japanese style rope bondage) for our website. Although, of course, the bondages are still difficult or even painful for the models, it's not really play.

My self confidence is low & I hate being in photos... just purely because I hate the way I look.

My man knows this and has come up with a way to help me.

When I have been a bit too cheeky or done something that displeases him sometimes my punishment is to take a certain number of photos of myself & send them to him. They have to be up to a certain standard and if they dont come up to scratch I have to keep taking photos til I get it right

I dont enjoy it so it deffinately is a punishment BUT I am also getting better at feeling slightly more comfortable doing it so he's helping me there too.

Very thoughtful punishment which benefits us both... I love it.

I love taking pictures and looking at them long after the fact.  They bring back good memories.  And there's a sort of "You can't hide" aspect to it: you may dress conservatively; act like the perfect lady, etc., but I have a picture of you naked and bound and wearing a collar and leash...

Now that I am training Shawn, I am finding out that photography as part of a scene can also be usedto raise a subs self confidence at something is actually being done correctly. He is very new and very very skittish about just about everything. We are going to be taking pictures of scenes, and they serve as his reminders that not only is he not dreaming (which I thought was very cute) but that he really does erform wel enough for me to be happy with it.
We are also going to be taking some erotic artistic ones to boost his self confidence in his appearance.
Angel wont take pictures. HE thinks he looks aweful, and doesnt want to see or remember how he looks.  EVen in the vanilla world, he has very few photos of himself unless it was at a party or group outting where ti was socailly necessary to smile and say cheese. I respect that as one of his limits and he humors me every now and again and we take a simple picture together.

Erotic photography is something completely different, and I dont actually consider it part of play.  I have been doing that sort of photography for years, of myself and of others who wanted to have pictures done. I have mostly not been involved with the model beyond helping with the setup of the props. I have done everything from nudes to BDSM fetish simply as artistic work, outside of play.  Id prefer more models who could separate the two and didnt think modeling would necessarily lead to sex... but I am patient.
