LadyPact -> Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 8:11:20 AM)

A misleading title, to be sure, but still one that fits.

What I mean by it, very specifically, is that there have been some very good threads and topics recently.  Ones that, as I read the OP and the following responses, I really have nothing to add.  Rather, I just sit back quietly and contemplate the thoughts that some have been kind enough to share.  Sometimes, the subjects don't apply to Me, but I do gain from reading them.

Without hijacking other threads, this is My opportunity to say thanks.

pseudopsychotic -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 10:10:48 AM)

Good thread good thread.
I feel the same and want to add my thanks to everyone here.
There are so many things that I knew and understood but could never articulate to anyone else. (sometimes even to myself)
And seeing it all-the undestaning and knowing- put into words has really helped me grow.

I love this place.

&& Thank you for this thread Ladypact.

Alumbrado -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 10:12:30 AM)

It is nice to have a community of other like minded people to have as sounding boards..

*fluffs her pillow* I like it here.. I think I will stay a bit.

Thank you for the correction on the song title.... lol

Yep, a feel good thread for reflection on My personal outlook.

chiaThePet -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 10:41:13 AM)

I second the notion.

Many things I thought I knew, I really knew not at all.

Learning, growing, expanding my horizons, a heartfelt bow to those who share.

Finding an email in my box from Mod11, a definite learning experience!

But I'll take it anywhere I can get it, even from on high.

velvetears -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 10:41:57 AM)

There are many threads i learn a lot from and don't feel i need to necessarily contribute to them - some i simply can't gather my thoughts together enough to make sense, so i don't.  i see themes which is interesting - you can hop from thread to thread and almost follow the pattern and see the thought processes happening - fascinating.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 4:18:00 PM)

I have enjoyed this forum immensely!  Like Velvet I can almost SEE the wheels turning in the minds of others, when one topic develops from another.  There are quite a few people I've learned a great deal from on this site.  Even if its what NOT to do or say [;)]

Politesub53 -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 4:51:37 PM)

So much makes me go hmmmmmm. From all the stuff i thought i knew but didnt. To some of the odd threads and replies.

i am glad to be here and share with you all, even when we dont agree. i count myself lucky to have my views challenged and questions answered.
So thank you all. [;)]

heartcream -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 4:56:30 PM)

Oh cuteness all over, I love this thread.

I read the threads much more than I contribute. I have similar reasons for not posting as already mentioned. Sometimes I may want to respond but I feel unable to, feeling much to shy.

I have grown to love some of the posters here for different reasons. Some are consistently funny, witty and so bright. Some tend toward more serious tones. Many here are knowledgeable about so many different aspects and things. Some posters I really enjoy but am a wee bit afraid of. I also love it when a sense of heart and vulnerability shows thru too. I am in awe of some posters. It is an interesting way to 'meet ' people. It is cool how all the differing view points can be made to give a well-rounded view on a subject. Or when folks 'go at it' within a thread is an education too. A few times one of the posters I have read and really liked, has ended up in my mail box. What an exhilarating experience that has been for me.

As I get to know some of the posters a bit I might see a thread and think, "Oh so-and-so will come thru this thread for sure."
I like how it seems folks personality comes thru too. Or how I may have a idea about someone and then they will come out and say something and freak me out in some way or another.

I have learned so many things about many different topics and stuff. Within the post there is often a link, either on the poster's signature line, or with in the body of the post and these have been very interesting and informative.

I like how many categories there are so you can learn and read about all sorts of things.

I think CM is very well done. I say thank you too.

AEslaveM -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/10/2007 6:39:44 PM)

i would like to add my thanks, too!  i have learned a lot that i didn't know, and i have also found some of it to be very thought-provoking, too.....

It is good to be able to read about so many different relationships here, and to learn the dynamics of all of them.

i have also spent many hours in side-splitting laughter sitting here reading some of the threads............

pleasureforck -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 9:57:23 AM)

I too would like to thank everyone for all the posts. All of you have helped me in so many ways. [:)]

TNstepsout -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 10:02:33 AM)

Yes I feel the same way. I do a lot more reading than posting. Which is remarkable since I'm quite impressed with my opinion and like to share it a lot. But there are many posts and discussions that have been very enlightening for me.

LadyLynx -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 10:23:19 AM)

lol. TNstepsout, that was pretty much what I was going to say!  I have gotten more vain since entering this lifestyle.   **now I got that song running thru my brain.** I think I am going to go dig up that tape.

here is the song by the way:

Things that make you go hmm

I was at the crib, sittin' by the fireplace
Drinkin' cocoa on the bear skin rug
The door bell rang. Who could it be?
Thought to myself then started to shrug
Got to the door. Ding Dong. Who is it?
My girl's best friend had payed me a visit.
Sly as can be, tight dress and all
She knew that I was faithful. I really didn't have the gall.
I tried to chilll. She made the move.
Now I know my girlfriend wouldn't approve.
I didn't realize my girl was settin' me up
Yo, my girl didn't trust me. No!
Yeah, but she lost control I wouln't take the bait.
I said chill baby baby chill baby baby wait
My girl bust in, Caught us creating a boom
She said "Girlfriend"?

Things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm, hmm, hmm
Things that make you go hmm

Here's how it started
Just an example of how another brother can trample
Ruin your life, sleep with your wife
Watch your behind
There was a friend of mine named Jay
Would come over late at night and say hey
I watched the fight. I thought is was alright.
'Cause me and Jay were really really tight
So damned close we had the same blood type.
Months went by and my wife got big
We were havin' a child and I got another gig
So I let Jay move into the crib and chill
He had his own room and helped pay the bills
The time had come (for the baby down to the scene)
It looked like Jay and I couldn't believe
Before my eyes in the delivery room.

The things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm
The things that make you go hmm, hmm, hmm
The things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm
The things that make you go hmm.

Robbie Rob - break it down!

Give it to me Give it to me Give it to me Give it to me (x7)
Give it to me Give it to me

Seventeen and I was havin' a ball
Eleventh grade and "Joe" I knew it all
I fell in love for the very first time
With this girl she really blew my mind
Inner sense and whole lotta class
Style that could give you whiplash
We said hello and my heart be stopped
She was the world and I was on top
Time went by, She filled my universe
We made love, She said I was the first
My boy kept tellin' me. Yo, I don't know
I think your girl's been playing tic tac toe
I'll ask my girl I know she only loves me
Wasn't I the one who tool your viginity?
The look on her face read sorrow and gloom
She said "Yeah, Why do you guys always ask that?"

(Chorus)
Things that make you go hmm
Things that make you go hmm
It's the things that make you go hmm

(Repeat Chorus)

Hey ladies
Have you ever had a man
Go away for business, come back with a tan
Comes home late at night from work
You cooked him dinner now you feel like a jerk
Sayin' he didn't have time to eat
And he's not even hungry, he wants to be treat
To the bedroom he said his head hurts
You're only makin' love in radical spurts
Mysterious calls and the phone goes click
You say to yourself "I'm gonna hit him with a brick"
Ain't no way he could be cheatin' on me
I wonder who bought him those BVD's
Dressed to a T to hang with the fellas
Over the guys and I'm getting jealous
Comin' home late smellin' like perfume (fume)

(Repeat Chorus x7)

Things that make you go hmm

LaTigresse -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 2:14:17 PM)

What a delightful thread!

I adore the forums in all their glory and other stuff.  Believe it or not, I read alot of threads that I do not contribute to. I've learned so much about all of this (BDSM) and even more about myself.

Interestingly enough, alot of what I learn has nothing at all to do with the topic of the thread. Moreso, the reactions of others and of myself. OR, the topic or one of the side topics that gets brought into it, will get me down a thinking path that goes off on it's own tangent. Occasionally I have created a thread from it but usually not. Rather I just let it sink in, and mull it over as I go about my day, sometimes it will inspire a bit of my own writing.

Another thing I find myself doing is emailing someone rather than adding to the thread. Simply because I see so much value in the thread and do not want to be a distraction for whatever reason. I did that recently. Someone created a thread about something I honestly know almost nothing about. The topic applied, not at all, to my own personal life. Yet, I know several women it does a great deal. Reading her words helped me to understand so much more. It was a very touchy topic and obviously very difficult for her to write about. I felt that anything I wrote in the thread would probably only create a disturbance, several factors considered. I still wanted to tell her how much it meant to me that she put herself out there like that, something so obviously painful. So, instead, I choose to write her a brief note.

Then, there are those that I just love to debate with on some topics. Watch them wind themselves up over nothing but words on a screen from a stranger.

Cuffkinks -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 2:22:43 PM)

     Excellent idea for a topic.
As one who always believes in paying credit where it's due, I'd like to add My thanks to all here as well.  I read much more than I post, and I have gained knowledge and insight by reading some of the posts here. Thanks again.

lonlyrossInNeed -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 3:08:53 PM)

very good thread ;)

It is always a pleasure to read a post that causes me to consider a different perspective or even a deeper look into a perspective that I share with the post.

LadyLynx -> RE: Things that make you say hmmmmmm (10/11/2007 3:59:07 PM)

One thing I definately enjoy about this board, is those who come in and liven things up a bit,(like if it's too serious.) 3 top posters that are amusing in this way: chia (the pet.),mnottertail and domiguy.  Quite a few times I would be reading and getting all hyped up and annoyed, then boom! someone will say something that has me rolling on the floor!.

I enjoy the message boards because it is a great to find out about different activities and aspects. but more then that, It gives me perspective on people.
