Owner59 -> The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/9/2007 6:15:44 PM)

Limbaugh then tried to draw a parallel between Graeme and his “phony soldiers” remark:

So the bottom line for me is: They can’t rely on truth to make their case for their cause. They have to lie. Be it about me, be it about their own voters (such as the Frosts) be it about President Bush, they must lie — and anybody who stands in the way of their succeeding with that lie becomes an enemy, becomes a target. That’s where I and my buddies in talk radio come in. We are a thorn in their side because we represent the truth they are trying to hide, the truth that they are lying about, and they have to do something about it — and they have to do that by lying. […]
They send the kid out to lie. They filled this kid’s head with lies just as they have some of these soldiers about me. Put lies in the kid’s head or put it on the script that he’s reading. He goes out and reads it. He’s 12-years-old! They will use anybody! They’ll corrupt anybody, to get where they’re headed. That’s who they are, folks.

Just who the fuck is the "they",that  he always talks about?

Murky terms like that, are the basis of bull shit.

honestly, what hes talking about and what theyre proposing isnt the same thing at all. and to be honest with you; no kid who needs health insurance from the government to pay for expensive hospital bills could be going to a private school with another sibling who needed just as much or more care. the facts are a bit..out there to me..and im not sure exactly what the issue is, but if its a childrens health insurance issue, then i believe any kid, doesnt matter how rich or poor should have free health care. and why not? they are afterall the little creatures that are going to grow up to be tomorows movers and shakers...why would you NOT want to help and protect them if they get sick?

Anyone that uses kids in order to promote their own political agenda is sick, perverted, and disgusting. And that goes for both sides.

It's sick that Democrats are using kids in order to push for socialized medicine. I dont buy it. Sorry. $35 billion dollar program to cover families that make $80,000 a year and kids up to age 26? This program is a waste of money! It's socialized medicine. It needs to die.

Why are you so obsessed with Rush?

sundownhawk -> RE: The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/9/2007 9:53:11 PM)

I believe the "they" he refers to are what he calls "left wing nut jobs", including politicians.
And yes, I think using a 12 year old to speak for the purpose of sympathy rather than an elected representative to explain the facts of an issue is ignorant.

FGB -> RE: The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/9/2007 10:15:16 PM)

omg your right, universal healthcare for kids does sound silly doesent it..jeez, who thought of that? socialized medicine? the basic idea that every person should get healthcare regardless of income levels? poppycock and balderdash

Admittedly, I do live in a silly country which provides free healthcare to all..and by god it really gets to me when I see some rich kid being rushed to hospital in a national health service ambulance.

using kids for propoganda IS sick, but not exactly new...politicians kissing babies anyone?

meh, just My two cents (or tuppence as we like to call it over here)

The kid was middle class and the program basically is extension of goverment aid to middle class youth. So, in this regard the kid was well chosen. Nobody argues it will benefit these people. USA runs close to 400 billion budget deficit. The question is how much can one add to it before all system will collapse. I guess we will find the answer soon.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/9/2007 10:27:27 PM)

If the anti-Republican fanatics have their way, the collapse will always be someone else's fault. Both parties have responsibility for what occurs.

So when socialized medicine occurs, and the number of medical students and medical related students decline, because the pay will be reduced, what will happen then? Longer wait times to get procedures done? Laws to prevent you from going outside the US and paying out of your pocket for it. How many people are without insurance, but qualify for state medical coverage? How many use health clinics as opposed to the ER, for a cold?

Last I saw, no one could be refused medical care at an ER if it is life threatening.

So will the children of illegal immigrants be covered under this?

Easy to just throw money at something, rather than tackle the larger issues. Doing that does not give politicians issues to get voted in on though.

I don`t know.8 years of balanced budgets under Clinton, 4 of those years, with a surplus.

If we had something other than a gutless leader,we could again have balanced budgets and health care for all kids.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/9/2007 10:42:14 PM)

Never said I liked Bush. You assume such. Just as you seem to do almost anytime someone disagrees with you.

Clinton was a decent president, but even he had a few things he could have done better.

Any direct comments about my comments? Have you thought about becoming the liberal version of Ann Coulter? I think you would do well if a station would hire you and get advertisers to pay. Maybe a radio show. Wait, a liberal radio show was started but no one listened. Instead Air America had to pay radio stations to carry their program.

If you want to make the socialist agenda look better, then show the positives of it, not the negatives of everything else around you. Think I will go read about that nicks coach some more.

This is simply not true, and you know it o59.  Why do you keep repeating that lie?  He had 3 surplus years, the other 5 were deficit.  Here is a simple chart with facts from the CBO.  http://www.uuforum.org/deficit.htm

If you spent as many hours a day listening to every word that Rush , Ann Coulter, and the administration deliver as Owner59 does, you'd be loopy on the facts too.

And Clinton raised taxes the highest they've ever been raised in the history of the country to get his "balanced budget".
I'd believe one of those holy rollers on tv before I'd believe either of the Clintons.

There is nothing wrong with hiking taxes to get a 'balanced budget' especially compared to the proliferacy of the current administration which is going to have the next couple of generations of Americans paying for it. It is not even as though Bush's welfare for the rich or his spending on the war are capital investment projects that will one day bear fruit.

The knee jerk reaction of the 'no taxes' brigade is just short sighted and inhibits politicians dealing with economic problems in a rational way.

Crush -> RE: The ugliest republican smears 12 year old kid. (10/10/2007 3:54:49 AM)

I'm thinking of going into "deficit spending" myself...hmmm... I'll

A) invest in transportation (new, expensive car....all the bells & whistles)
B) invest in defense (can't have enough guns...and that cool safe...ammo....knives, swords...body armor)
C) invest in education (Poker Camp, here I come!)
D) invest in small business (Yeah baby....where's that "whips R us" company?)
E) invest in health care (Spa Tour, baby!)
F - Z) etc, etc, etc.

And I'm going to get my neighbors to pay for it all, in the future, because I've got the really good guns (See (B) above) and they don't.

Really, it is more like I'll "glady pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today"

If the Federal government would just work towards getting 'BACK TO BASICS', as per the Constitution, there wouldn't need to be any tax increases or deficit spending.  It is ridiculous to talk about new programs that really should be taken care by state and local governments.

As for the "the Feds will make sure it is done for all citizens" B.S., the Feds have yet to demonstrate they are good at any social program to date.  It is neighbors helping neighbors that makes the difference.

Using a 12 yr old kid?  Typical political BS to distract from the issue using emotions instead of logic and intelligence.

Of course, I'm a firm believer in the two term limit:  One in Congress and one in prison; both of equal length.  So "well, your party did THIS xx years ago" as a response to "your party is doing THIS" is still a "neener-neerer" and distracts from the "problem."

~ Vote Cthulu...why choose the lesser of two evils?

(Just to toss another log on the fire:  "Republicans are wusses for not sticking to basic values and principles.  Democrats STILL haven't gotten over the 2000 election and Clinton's impeachment and so have lost sight of any values or principles.")

If you think he is such a jerk, then don't listen to him. Simple really. Coming on cm day after day talking about him constantly, makes me wonder where the obsession comes from. Isn't there anything you actually like that you could talk about?

....to ask a question about your post........i understand that if ones leg is smashed up in a car accident that you are not at fault for, then it will be stabilised at an ER. What about the inevitable rehabilitation though? It seems to me that emergency care is one thing, health care is something else entirely........
