Who is your team?

Did they make the playoffs, how are they doing?

Who is going to win it this year?

How about the MVP, ROY, and MOY?

I'll start...

Go Rockies!!!!!!   They are leading the Phillies 2-0 and have game 3 at home, can you say sweep?

NL MVP - Matt Holliday
NL ROY - Troy Tulowitski
NL MOY - Clint Hurdle

I can almost promise you one thing; whoever makes the Series from the AL will win. Handily.

Don't be too sure about that.

Rockies were 10-8 in interleague play this year and owned more than one of the big market east coast AL teams.

Just ask the Yankees if they want to come back to Coors Field. <chuckles>

Not saying the Rockies are going to win it all, but with the way they have been playing lately it is definitely within the realm of possibility.

Hi angel . I agree, they are two different games, but that too easily plays into the AL's hands....

I'll agree with you on one thing, the Rockies are smokin' hot. I didn't think they'd get past the Padres, much less hammer angel's Phillies like they have.

I wonder how many of the Phillies players brought their ski's to CO with them, since that is where they'll start their winter break.

DENVER (AP) -- A bust on Broadway, Kaz Matsui traded the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the Rocky Mountains and found himself again.

"I wasn't Kaz Matsui in New York," the 31-year-old Japanese infielder said through his interpreter. "I don't know why, but I wasn't the player that I am.
"I'm so glad I'm here. I'm really comfortable now."

The Mile High City isn't the pressure-cooker New York is, and the Colorado clubhouse isn't full of colossal contracts and menacing microscopes, either.

Maybe that had something to do with the metamorphosis of Matsui, who this season finally flashed the skills that made him a seven-time All-Star with the Seibu Lions before he parlayed that success into a $20.1 million, three-year deal with the Mets in 2003.

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Jim Tracy was fired as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday after two seasons filled with long losing streaks and little discernible progress.

Tracy's patience and back-patting weren't enough to turn around the Pirates. He produced records of 67-95 in 2006 and 68-94 this season, the shortest run of any non-interim Pirates manager since Bill Virdon was fired late into his second season in 1973.

"What we needed to do is change the culture here to a culture of success," new team president Frank Coonelly said. "We needed a new direction and a new focus."

CHICAGO (AP) -- Rich Hill loosened up his arm and legs during a light workout Friday, not far from where the ivy on the Wrigley Field walls is beginning to turn from green to brown.

The Chicago Cubs' season will fade away, too, if they don't find a way to escape an 0-2 deficit against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Against the young, eager and talented Diamondbacks, the Cubs will count on Hill, hope their top hitters find their strokes and rely on a home crowd that is always raucous.

Indians and Yanks tied at 1-1, bottom of the 8th.

Here's one......

PHILADELPHIA – Here's what happens when you start two pitchers with 28 big-league games between them, extend summer a few days, send in a bunch of hitters and put it all in the most ridiculously offense-leaning ballpark ever:

The game finds Charlie Manuel.

The game also happened to find the burgeoning momentum and bat barrels of the Colorado Rockies, along with the suspect bullpen of Manuel's Philadelphia Phillies, who lost Game 2 of the National League division series 10-5 on Thursday.

But, mostly, it found Charlie Manuel himself.

It was a tense, defensive Phillies manager who trudged into the postgame news conference, dragging pitcher Kyle Kendrick along, almost as though he'd be made to live with this for a while.

Clint Hurdle should be Manager of the year, and not just because I'm a Rockies fan.

Earlier in the season most fans around here wanted him gone (including me).  Somehow he turned the team and his own performance around.  The Rockies were picked to finish last in the division and now they are on the verge of winning the first round.  Granted, voting had to be in at the end of the regular season so I don't think playoff numbers count.

Just taking the regular season into account, he took a team of young players and molded them into a cohesive unit.  He not only didn't finish last, he finished with the best record the Rockies have had in franchise history.  Not to mention, he was able to do it with one of the smallest payrolls in the majors.

angel, if your guys can get Hamels some help, and shore up a posistion or two, they should be solid for some time, but I just don't see them, or any NL team, winning this year. But, at least your guys made the playoffs........ mine, sheesh.
