Maybe a little entertainment for you Sugar
Tormented still by hate and pain,
I see the dead rise up again.
Their shaven heads and bodies bare,
The scars of torture painted there.
The thoughts they had, the "crimes" they felt
Imprinted now, by welt on welt.
The men they loved, the men they knew,
All standing here like me and you.
And when it came, the time to die,
We heard it too, that anguished cry.
But cowards in our lair we hid,
They died for us, for what we did.
And all that time, whilst we were proud
And marched in peace, and spoke out loud,
The bad ones watched, and made their notes
And raised their men and got their votes.
And once in charge, they had their way
And purged the strong, day after day.
Whilst we, the weak, gave up our fight,
And hid by day, and loved by night.
And round and round the world we go
And see the same, and fight the foe.
But fundamentals stay the same,
No lessons learned, the same old game.
For humans here and humans there
Are all the same with souls laid bare.
And dog eats dog and man eats man,
Each aims to win howe'er he can.
And damn his friends from olden days.
He kills the blacks and kills the gays
And hangs the Jews and feels just great,
And sees it all as Evil's fate.
Sorrow pours from the corpses' eyes.
They gave their lives, we did not rise.
Next time, we swear, we'll fight the fight.
They trust us not, and they are right.
For cowards born as cowards live
And take the love that others give.
But danger came, and then we ran
And saved ourselves. And such is man.
