I've been in the lifestyle since 16. I also happen to be a Firefighter as well as an EMT/Paramedic student. I was curious how many O/others out there are also in Emergency careers.

My 20 year old son is a Firefighter/EMT who is also currently attending classes for his Paramedic license. The other day he won an award, the Star of Life, for bringing a man back from a full cardiac code. There are quite a few young ladies that think he's pretty "hot".

Funny, I spent half my life trying to keep him safe and the first thing he does the minute I turn my back is put himself in danger...lol. Actually, I'm very proud of him.

I use to be an EMT. I've been in the medical field for over ten years now.

Prior to working in the medical field, I learned first aide and BCPR in Scouts and was apart of Heath Occupation Students of America H.O.S.A in High School.

All I can say is that a little knowledge in health can go a long with when something goes wrong in a scene.

I'm an ex-cop, now a police dispatcher.......pretty much have seen and heard it all......but I love the job...keeps me off hte streets and out of trouble!

OK, off the streets anyway.  Great way to spend 10 hours..telling all the cops where to go, and I don't spend the night in jail for it!

I was a Paramedic for 6 years, prior to that I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for almost 10 years.  Before going to Paramedic school I was the Lt. for heavy rescue and also led the high angle and technical rescue teams.  During My time around emergency personell I met more than a few who tweaked the 'lifestyle radar'.

I started my career as a firefighter/emt-p.  Did it full time for 6 years.

That was a long time ago.

I know quite a few people in the Lifestyle who work in the medical field as EMT's and a few firefighters.
