Oreally is a opinion shaper,and represents the(political) right.And gives folks good insights into the right-wing.

During the September 19th broadcast of his radio show O’Reilly recounted a dinner that he had with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s, a restaurant owned and operated by African Americans in Harlem, New York. O’Reilly’s description of his night on the town started innocently enough, telling listeners that he “had a great time, and all the people up there are tremendously respectful.” But later he added, “I couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference
between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black
patronship.”
Later in the broadcast, during a discussion with Juan Williams about the impact of rap on culture, O’Reilly gave more details about his night with Sharpton, “there wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.’ You know, I mean, everybody was –
it was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And
there wasn’t any kind of craziness at all.” Then, O’Reilly delivered his most insulting and racist line of the broadcast. “I think black Americans are starting to think more and more for themselves. They’re
getting away from the Sharptons and the [Rev. Jesse] Jacksons and the people trying to lead them into a race-based culture. They’re just trying to figure
it out. Look, I can make it. If I work hard and get educated, I can make it.”

The right loves free speach as long as they can control it. If he isn't a racist I've never seen one. Don't be fooled by the "look at my black friends how can I be a racist?' argument.The fact he was "surprised" black people acted "normal" in a restaurant proves how out of touch he is.

Well, Popeye,..Oreally,......is on the right.He misinforms,spreads lies and half truths,and does real damage.

He`s carrying the right-wing`s water(as does all of Fox News),soft-balling republicans and making personal attacks on democrats and liberals.

One thing that was SOOOOO entertaining,was seeing Jessey Jackson,of all people,on his show the other night.

For those that don`t follow Oreally,he`s been trashing Jackson for over ten years.
Really nasty,personal attacks.

Oreally has attacked him on every level and with every dirty dog trick.

He`d start out a segment with."Jessey Jackson,an ordained minister with no church,...(pause). Where does he get his money?What does he do?And so on.

Making him seem dishonest and like a low life.Oreally ,lol,also takes it upon himself to lecture the black community,to not follow or give support to "the Jacksons or Sharptons(Rev.Al Sharpton),of the world".
Oreally has no clue how pompous he looks,when he says things like that.
He`s saying that really,for the edification of his conservative audience,though,and not because it has merit.

So after 11 years of trashing Jessey Jackson,he asks Jackson(and Sharpton) for help,ah-la "Don Imus".lol

What irony,for Oreally(omg),and what tragedy for his audience,to see Oreally come crawling to the reverend Jessey Jackson.

I really do not like O'Reily much myself, but at least he is giving honest opinions of what he was thinking, and he is admitting he is learning there is not much of a difference. What I do not like is using the word racist, when it does not really apply. There is a difference in cultures, between many people, some like the differences and some do not. Stating that you believed in a stereotype and found it to be incorrect, seems like you are learning about your ignorance and not embracing it.

People often have incorrect perceptions of different cultures or races, and learning the truth is better than wallowing in the ignorance. Discrimination happens on every side of the lines between cultures and races. Why is it so surprising? You will never remove all of the lines that define people, and I do not believe they should be removed. It is our difference that give us value. If we were all the same, where would that lead?

O'Reily is just like many other commentators and politicians. They work for their interest, and do not have virtues/morals/ethics.
