Well a real question was handled in a jesting manner by most. Simply ponder thedepth answers and you will have a fundamental understanding, but note there are degrees in everything so the word "total" may well be a misnomer.

I like the way you explained this, or expanded on the idea I should say.
"total" does take on a life of its own depending on who is using it and the dynamics of the relationship.  If I were doing what I would consider a TPE (total power exchange) it wouldn't negate the rights of the other person.
