How many people think that "star signs" actually matter, any how many people are just kidding?

CL, I don't know if they "matter" or not but there are some things that are true about them regarding characteristics of people in general.
I like to travel and I'm very "direct" in speaking, two strong suits of "The Archer."
I was like that before I ever knew anything about Astrology.
At 11 years old I took a train from Boston to San Francisco all by myself. And back again too.
I guess they're kind of "fun".
I really don't know that much about astrology myself.

I'm gonna say I'm whistling through the graveyard on this one. My last two serious lovers were Geminis and I'll be damned if they didn't both turn out to be completely schizoid. Coincidence? Had to be...

Right?

Right?

Sure, right.

I think...

I am such a Capricorn, it is not funny.
Capricorn is the sign of the mountain goat, and I am
stubborn as a goat! [:D]
I am calculating and practical.

I am 100% Capricorn.

While there is about an 8% chance of them just happening to have the same sign (about 12 of those things, right?), there may be circumstances increasing this chance.  For instance, if one asks potential mates their sign, this could influence their decision and their rate.

Who knows?  You could just have a thing for Gemini's with schitzo syptoms.  ;)  (Or, perhaps more unnervingly, they could just have a thing for you!)

NovelApproach -> RE: do you fit your star sign? (9/28/2007 5:04:31 AM)

I'm a Scorpio, and a Fire-year Tiger, and I'm a pretty stereotypical example of both.

For those unfamiliar with Chinese Zodiac, this is from a horoscope a friend sent recently.
quote:

Tigers are strong but very emotional and sensitive. They can get stubborn over things that they believe to be right or true.  Positive Traits: Lovable, alluring, warm-hearted, altruistic, honourable, hard-working, pleasant, independent, engaging, dynamic and idealist sweetie pies.  Negative Traits: Rash, hot-headed, reckless, infatuated, quarrelsome, caustic, moody, predatory, rebellious, disobedient and irreverent rascals.

Tigers do not find worth in power or money. They will be completely honest about how they feel and expect the same of you. On the other hand, they seek approval from peers and family. Generally, because of their charming personalities Tigers are well liked. Often, failing at a given task or being unproductive in his personal or professional life can cause a Tiger to experience a depression. Criticism from loved ones can also generate this type of Tiger reaction. Still, like all felines, Tigers always land on their feet, ready for their next act in life, pursuing it with unyielding energy and hunting it infallibly.

Tigers are also incorrigibly competitive - they simply cannot pass up a challenge, especially when honor is at stake, or they are protecting those they love. Tigers are unpredictable and it would be unwise to underestimate their reactions. They may appear cool, but they have the Big Cat's instincts to pounce at a moment's warning. Natural leaders, they have a strong sense of their own dignity, and if they find themselves in the ranks, they can be stubborn and obstinate. In positions of power they can be difficult though stimulating bosses. Tigers are intelligent, alert, and farsighted. They have their fingers on the pulse. Good strategists and tacticians, they often have a hidden agenda. As long as they do not risk their luck too often, and keep their restless nature under control, their tactics usually pay off in life.

Element-related: Eccentric and dramatic, Fire Tigers are aglow with passion and verve. They are outgoing, expressive and look on the bright side of things. They have the Tiger's natural ability to lead others and are able to excite others simply with their own gift of enthusiasm. They can be funny and have great senses of humor. Tigers are powerful speakers and have the ability to command and persuade crowds through speech. Their own seemingly endless supply of energy can make them appear a bit dramatic, and it may make them more sensitive to cautious or down-to-earth approaches in others.

Heh, that's me all right.

Lashra -> RE: do you fit your star sign? (9/28/2007 5:07:45 AM)

I am a Sagittarius born on the Capricorn cusp and they do fit me. I love to travel, I am very independent, stubborn, logical and laid back.

I fit all star signs in some respect.  And I don't fit all star signs in others.

Has anyone here considered that they might be similar to their star sign because that’s what they’ve been told a person with their star sign is like growing up and so have emulated those characteristics?

FC.. I feel sorry for you that your life is so devoid of magic.
