Perhaps because they receive so much "junk" e-mails themselves, the few Dommes from here that have contacted me first employed a less direct method that many of us might learn from.
Each note was about either a post I made on some thread, or a comment on my little essay in my profile.
The tone of their first letter was uniformly "friendly", usually witty, and subtly "flirty" at most. They demonstrated thought and insight that could only have come from reading and thinking about what I had said, and for some odd reason genuinely moved to make an interesting comment. Not one of these first notes mentioned sex, BDSM, favorite kinks...although D/s may have been touched upon briefly in a few.
Dominant or submissive, my hunch is that any male is going to get a higher positive response ratio by using those guidelines when writing to any woman, Domme or sub.
It's just a theory, of course....
