Are men more apt to go to see a ProDominant than women? If so, is it because there are few Pro Doms ...

Depends on who they cater to. Women are more discreet about it.

Golly, if I could find a Pro male Dom, I'd use one. Simply because I don't have time for any kind of relationship right now (not for a few months, as I am moving, and very busy).

But I haven't seen any listed anywhere for my town, and even on this site, there are only about 4 or 5 (compared to hundreds of Pro Dommes) listed in the "Professional Services" section.

They'd have to be pretty damned good susan. Tough audience.[;)]

SusanofO -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 5:42:19 PM)

Well I just think - no matter how much they might protest otherwise, that any other male Dom is going to expect me to get "involved" - and I don't have time for that - not for a few months (I am in the process of moving.)

My old Dom even contacted me recently - and even after one phone call, he was e-mailing me and trying to tell me what I could wear when I wasn't with him - after one conversation! I told him to get lost, and not to contact me anymore.

Right now, I am in no position for anything expect "no strings". For me, that means after I leave the bedroom, the "engagement" ends. Right now, I don't want "follow-up" contact, or "rules" re: How I am to live my life, outside a meeting. In a few months, that will change, but not now.

I am not convinced a non-Pro male Dom isn't going to be trying to control parts of my life, from "afar", and also expect more contact than I can give at the moment. If I happen to meet one, great. But I don't have loads of time to look for one right now, and doubt it will happen.

I'd say yeah, they are.

I don't have an statistics on hand...but I've got this crazy hunch that guys tend to be a bit hornier than girls.

And yes, I know, "BDSM isn't aobut sex, it's about the spiritual journey of devotion and blooming into the wonderful lifestyle of nurturing your inner D/s destiny to become blah blah blah."  Most guys get into BDSM because it gives them a hard on.

That and guys tend to have more money.

That and I'll bet guys tend to get more satisfaction from from bottoming without a relationship.

Is it more acceptable for a man to go to a pro than for a woman to do so ?......

Unless he's one of the odd ones like me-not really into control. Seriously? I love my independence too much to go that route. If I need to manage someone-it's like owning a pet.

I'll always have to worry about "feeding" it.

I'd really rather not.

BondageTopJere -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 5:50:25 PM)

Besides a few exceptions, my thought for the majority of fem subs is...... why bother? Theres enough Doms on here or other sites willing to do something like that for free.

SusanofO -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 5:51:13 PM)

RRafe: Then IMO you are the exception (although maybe not. I am not really experienced enough to say that. But it is my impression. Maybe my view is just colored by my experiences with my ex-Dom, though.) Nice to hear, though, that types like you exist.

xoxi -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 5:55:54 PM)

Anything men are willing to pay for, women are able to be paid for.

Why would a woman pay to see a pro Dom when she can market herself as a pro sub [;)]

Kink is for fun with a special friend to me. It's not a "lifestyle", or something I want to obsess over. I have a life.

SusanofO -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 6:00:38 PM)

Well, I can go either way, depending on how I feel about the other person, and what is workable for both, at the time.

Not entirely sure, really.  I suppose I'll have to poll tommorow's clients.

RumpusParable -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 6:00:59 PM)

I'd not use a ProDom, that I can think of.  Two  main reasons:

1)  As much as I may want to bottom at times, I never want it enough to pay that sort of money for it.  I can just be patient.

2)  I'm not going to put myself into a position to be restrained and/or beaten in a private place by someone I don't or barely know and is likely quite a bit larger than me.

Pro's are prostitutes, so it's just easier to think of how a particular culture views prostitutes.

Where I live, I guess it'd be more acceptable for a woman, since we're so used to seeing female prostitutes.  Male prostitutes are normally homosexual or transexual.  But, again, that's just here.  It really varies.

SusanofO -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 6:03:13 PM)

RumpusParable: Well you've got a point about a male Dom being much bigger than a female - I'd ask for plenty of references. I've never done it, and from that standpoint, yes, it is a bit scary, I admit.

Who's doing the judging of what's acceptable or not?

Indeed.

Principle of least interest.

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: men vs women and use of Pros (9/25/2007 7:04:55 PM)

the thing about pro doms dommes is that  your right there are tons that do stuff for free. and ds and bdsm means to much to cheapen it by giving that power exchange for money. all about values if you value yourself you will value you someone else
