Women who are put on chastity tend to discover that their sex drives go dormant. At which point the threat/promise of giving/refusing an orgasm is laughable. They've removed the power of the orgasm from the dom by denying him the ability to give her one.

And once that huge portion of the control is gone, at best the relationship is that of roommates, and she'll be more interested in adopting another cat instead of having sex with him.

Whereas men put in chastity don't discover that their sex drives dwindle, it rises instead and becomes an even stronger method of control.

It certainly seems so. There are many men with this fetish but I've seen very few posts from women who enjoy this. I don't think it has quite the same psychological impact for women.

I must be sort of androgynous, because I did the same when put on restriction-sublimated the drive. Took the Domme totally by surprise. She expected it to increase her power-it destroyed it instead-she got dumped.

So I understand the value of "*short term denial* with women-but would NEVER do it long term..

That is it exactly Celeste! Most women who get "starved" sexually, end up very content with just cuddling or hand holding. I believe Midori said- in her Wild Side book- that with women it is all about how WONDERFUL the orgasm is...to give them as many pleasurable sensations as possible. Soon the woman associates "good feelings" with your touch and craves more.

Men,well I stand by the "control the orgasm, control the man"....it doesn't work for all men,but it works for my boy! :-) It is a love/hate kinda thing for him,but it works damn well for us.

Check out this blog, it is from a woman who lives life in a chastity belt (but manages to have a great deal of sex):

Locked and Secure

Also this website is focused on women in chastity belts:

chastitybelt.tk

I am interested in the dynamic of keeping a female in a chastity belt, keeping her aroused and on the brink of orgasm as long as possible, exploring ways if possible of giving her an orgasm without genital contact, and having her put my pleasure above hers. She wouldn't have periods of lockup longer than a week or so at any one time, and there would be times when I'd unlock her but keep her restrained so that I could tease and 'edge' her (by edging I mean get her to the brink of orgasm, backing off and doing it again) then when we were done, she'd get locked up again - to prevent her from masturbating when I am not around.

If it wasn't something she wanted, it wouldn't be worth much. If she wasn't a highly sexual person, it again would not have much value. It would be far from a sexless existence.

I'm not looking so I post this without fear of it affecting my prospects.

Have a nice day.

It's funny.... I never worry about my prospects. I get more interest  by just being openly bent.[;)]

Holly,
You might want to check out Locked In Steel for female chastity belts....warning they are not cheap, but definately made for daily use...no touching allowed!

You're right, they're not cheap, but thank you for the recommendation. Just looking at the pics started to get me hot! [;)]

I've dreamed of such a thing for years, and Master loves the idea of being able to lock me up. I'm very obedient, and don't touch myself without permission, but still, there's just something about it!

I've forwarded the link to Master, but at the top of our wish list right now is to have laser hair removal done on my pussy within the next year, so it will be a while before we can think about something like this.

I was never put into chastity, but orgasm denial was common.  She would tease me until it would make me crazy, but at the end, I would be allowed an orgasm for release.  But up until that time, there was complete denial - and it was used as a torture at times, mostly through milking.  It's definitely not fun - you ejaculate, but you don't have the orgasm.  She'd do that maybe up to 5 or 6 times on occassion, and believe me, it's brutal.  I've been left in tears begging for release, as it gets to be very painful the more you have it done to you.  Those are my experiences with it.

Being a Dom/me couple we don't really fit in to your questions perfectly but we can provide our insight anyway.... Our male slaves have in general responded well to orgasm control and enforced chastity as a guiding and learning tool. it almost always helps a male focus and keep his mind in slave space. With female slaves the situation is different and more complex we have had a female slave where chastity was useful as a tool, but all we had to  do was tell her, not physically stop her like we always had to with males. In general however we find female slaves don't find enforced chastity beyond orgasm control in the sense of needing permission to cum or something similar to be useful to living in slavespace or focusing on their bdsm.

So for us, males are more often to be in enforced chastity because we thing it works best for us, them and their bdsm.

I am still of the impression that Chastity is a bigger deal for, and practiced more often on, males than females.

I appreciate everyone's repsonses, thank you.

I know when I was deprived of sex for a long time (like years), it bothered me I had to go without it, yes - but it bothered me more that my partner was somehow so disinterested in me that way, that he never seemed to consider how insulting and hurtful this lack of sexual attention was to me.

As a result, I am currently most definitely disinterested if any prospective mentions Chastity as a serious kink interest of theirs.  On the other hand, I really LOVE orgasm denial (both giving and receiving. I am a Switch).

I understand if other people and their partners want to do Chastity, and that's fine, though, of course. I am not criticizing it as an overall kink option - it just doesn't work for me right now, is all.
