Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan on Sunday faulted Democrats, including presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, for moving away from former President Bill Clinton's embrace of globalization.

"They're taking positions, which he as president veered away from," Greenspan said on NBC's "Meet the Press," speaking about Democrats and a possible White House under Hillary Clinton, who polls show as the Democrats' front-runner.

Asked how Democrats today were different from the party Bill Clinton led, Greenspan responded; "The whole area of trade ... is a very critical issue, because it's not only the issue of trade.

In an interview last week, Greenspan called Clinton "the best Republican president we've had in a while."

It was a good interview.

As far as Globalization,I`m for the good parts,and don`t want the bad parts.Just like most Americans.

Remove "THE most dangerous",and replace it with "the most respected on financial matters",and I would agree.

Status: offline 		yes- but if any man woman or group gets to much capacity for power- the ruling power will put it in check. add to that- it is abit unusual for a man of his position to comment publically like he is. as far as i know- he was supposed to quietly retire.  the investors are still watching- heck if he fell and broke his arm- markets could go wild.

What position exactly is that?

As a retired, US citizen, last time I checked, he has the right to free speech.

Frankly, I could listen to the guy talk for days...the guy is supremely fucking intelligent.

(Almost done with his current book....awesome shit).

He ISSSSS inteligent. He did a GREAT job as fed chair. I recall double digit iflation in the 70s.

All im saying is anyone with his type of power/stature is closely watched, both by freindly forces and not so friendly forces.

The govt has a dossier of files both on regular folks- as well as folks in the spotlight...

He says he's a libertarian in that article, to, LOL, the FED chairman a libertarian, oh my, I've heard it all now. That's like saying hitler was a pacifist. The pre-emminent market manipulator, a libertarian?. That is a hoot. He must of really hated his job if that was the case. Maybe, he's trying to make amends now for running the worst part of the quasi federal government.

You never know, maybe he'll run with Ron Paul, LOL. Libertarian, greenspan. Good one. I'm really laughing at that.

I just reviewed the definition of libertarian, and free markets is pretty much a standard pillar of the libertarian position. How Greenspan can think he is a libertarian is quite frankly mind boggling, his job was market manipulation, by definition!!!. Astounding.

I say to anyone....read the books ''Against Oligarchy'' and  ''Uncle Sam Cooks the books'' that deliver up facts from within the historical framework, and then come tell me all about the brilliance of Greenspan. The dude’s a flea with a pair of big, thick horned rimmed glasses.  

If elements from within the Democratic Party are trying to squash these detrimental, super subversive treaties; like NAFTA, CAFTA and GAT - They have earned a new found respect from me.  

These treaties and the massive trade imbalance have been instrumental in both the dollar's collapse and the depletion of all sectors of our industrial base, thus paving the way for future Americans to hold low-paying jobs in a menial ''service economy''.  

Globalism sucks cock unless it has close to a dollar per dollar trade balance.

Read the book.

Your comments on his politics are about as intelligent as calling a car chase a crime solely because it involved high speed and metal...only to later find out they were talking about Hot Wheels, and relative movement.

(Educate yourself...and for the record...little snippets of news...are not necessarily coincident with "facts").

Please do explain for the audience, what a trade balance is (or, as I suspect you meant to infer...a trade imbalance), moreover, what it consists of.

Sure...that's why he's quoted as saying "Clinton was the smartest president I worked under", as well as having nothing but praise for Clintons entire presidency, and nothing but derision for Reagans, Bush I and Bush II.

(As I said above....read.  News snippets don't tell the story...history, however, does).

And no...that wasn't on a TV show...it was in his book (which is no less than extraordinary...a rare opportunity to sit at history's knee as it unfolded).

There's no reason for you to be angry over a few of these posts because we don't agree-with / like your guru Greenspan.

I've been on the record as speaking out against Greenspan and Globalism since a time when you posted under the moniker ''Sponge Bob'' {or something like that} I've been hella consistent and posted the same thing many times, and you've been through two or three different monikers since. So we're not trying to make you look bad, bra, we're just moving the trash out to the dumpster. Chill lol!

You're here touting a book that a guy wrote who's patting himself on the back because he was beloved for being a stooge /crony for the financiers /crooks on Wall Street - I'm here touting two books that dispel many of these false myths and preach the polar opposite of Greenspan being this wonderful, omnipotent guru.

I'm telln' ya dude.....when I hear Greenspan touted, I don't have visions of E.F Hutton.

When I can purchase Greenspan's book--roughed up with folded pages-- for seventy-five cents on e-bay, I'll purchase  and read it. I suggest you do the same with the two books I've recommended.

Now....as far as explaining a balanced trade policy and the virtue of it - It's pretty self-explanatory, is it not? lol

What are you speaking to : The difference between actual /notional value in the case of imports vs. exports / services vs. manufactured goods? I'm not sure what it is you are asking? I'll gladly bash uncle Milton and his goofy ideas about debt and leveraging the farm if you want me to.
