Termyn8or -> RE: Just needing to rant... (9/21/2007 8:09:17 AM)

Something nobody seems to have mentioned, congradulations on losing the 65 lbs.

Maybe I missed it, but I know how hard it is to lose weight. I've gone through alot of fasting for days and all that and changing the way I eat. I am 5'11" and 210 lbs. (approx) and I consider myself fat but not obese.

I have an obese Father and a fat sister, when the subject comes up, it is not for any alterior purpose, I genuinely care about their health, and that would apply if I hooked up with a fat Woman. I would encourage her to lose weight for many reasons, not for control or some stupid shit like that. My control is to be rooted in her trust and respect for me, not embarrassment.

Case in point, just yesterday I screwed my back up getting water out of a water cooler. This is due to the fact that I had to bend over sideways for the duration of the time it took to fill my water bottle. If I weren't as heavy as I am it might not have been a problem.

I haven't seen your profile, but I imagine you are young. The time to lose it is now. It gets harder and harder to exercise, to move around, even to walk as you age. I am 47 so I know. My Father is 68 and he found out the hard way.

If you lost 65 lbs. I bet you feel better, find it easier to move around etc., let that encourage you. Do it for yourself. Even if you do it for someone you love, it should be for health reasons. He should want you to be happy and healthy for as long as possible, but nothing else should be contingent on weight loss. If someone loves you it doesn't matter if you weigh 1,000 lbs., if that is not so, it is simply lust.

If I hooked up with a fat Woman, I would make healthy stirfrys, salads with meat (for those hot summer days) and soups with so much in them that they need no noodles. She would also learn to eat just one Lays potato chip if I had to chain her to the wall. (dunno if you're old enough to remember that commercial "noone can eat just one")

You can't help by debasing someone. The potato chip thing would be a fun game, but not the whole thing. I understand a few things. Some people overeat because of emotional stress, and that's a really bad trap to get out of. I solved it by refusing to eat when stressed out. Others overeat because they are malnourished (yup). Your body still wants something, something you haven't fed it.

Now here's the trap, you might not overeat at all at this point in time. Once the weight is on, it is very hard to take off. The body still wants something. And as far as burning fat, it really doesn't want to give it up. I understand. I lost about 40 lbs. or so and am doing much better. But it was not easy, not at all. I didn't eat any carbs for about three years.

As a welcome side effect I learned a great deal of self control.

If you would like to continue to lose weight I would suggest a colloidal mineral supplement such as Dr. Powers. Taken before a meal, it floods your stomach with not only the 24 minerals the USDA recognizes as essential, but a bunch more that are considered beneficial. Those others are considered essential in other countries.

I would also use unrefined sea salt, another great source. I use it to the complete exclusion of regular table salt.

They say that obesity leads to diabetes, which is proven everywhere but the US to be caused by a mineral deficiency. But pointing to other stastical data, that we have the poorest diet in the US and the highest incidence of obesity, I think it might be that the same factor causes both. While I think it a logical conclusion, I am not prepared to state it unequivocably. But evidence is evidence.

Best of luck in your quest. And you don't have to become a supermodel. Just be, or become healthy. Those who would hurt or humiliate someone for being overweight are dogmeat, perhaps I'll send my fat sister over there to kick their ass. She'll snap them like a twig.

Watching my Father having trouble walking is a very effective impetus for me to maintain, at least not gain weight. I see what it does to a person. I don't want that for myself or anyone I might like or love. When I see him just barely able to walk out to the driveway and get into the car, and when I see him having trouble driving a stickshift because he has an issue with the steering wheel vs. being able to push the clutch all the way down, it reinforces my will.

Anyone who has the idiocy to insult you or anything like that, summarily dismiss them as an idiot. They have no conception of what it is like nor any cohesion to the human race. Let them complain to someone else.

Be well, and get even better. It is in your best interest.

And again, congradulations on the progress you have made FOR YOURSELF, noone else.

Thank you for your tips - although I have a super strict diet I have to go by, as I have had weight loss surgery, I also have to take lots of vitamins. I have lost the 65 lbs and hope to lose more, but I have no intentions of becoming a stick... anyway. My whole issue was dont tell me something like that - duh I already know! Also why be so rude? If you dont like someone whos chubby - then dont talk to them! Dont insult them just dont talk to them, people annoy me to no end.

Hon, try not to let things like that get under your skin. I'm not a small gal either, but i've worked hard to become happy with living in my own skin. Some people are naturally "fixers" and think it's their role to correct what they see as shortcomings in people, even ones they don't know well. Often their intentions are good, they just don't realize that their well-meant intentions are hurtful or annoying.

As long as you are happy with who you are, that's what's important. Don't sweat the small stuff .... life is too short to waste it on little things.

Many people here are just not nice.
Don't let random comments from strangers get you down.

D, I think we are on the same page here. You will never be a twig, neither will I , we were not meant to be.

I agree about assholes that will screw with someone for being overweight, except in very rare circumstances. For example I will mess with my sister, "one of the butt sisters" stuff like that. And she cracks up. Sometimes it is serious but then it is not screwing around, we do have discussions.

But we joke around about it, like if she is here hanging with my dudes, I might say "Take a look over here, she is about to kick your ass". And she is healthy, relatively. We were always fat when we were kids, the only difference is that I lost alot of it.

Being in my 40s, seeing others in my age range, I do bring it up. I never berate anyone about it, nor do I want to hurt them in any way. But the subject omes up, and I try to give the best advise I can. Thing is, if you don't lose it in your 40s you never will. That subjects you to a harder life, believe me, I see it every day.

I only hope to encourage. I have not lost 65 lbs., I did lose about 40, maybe taking off the other 25 would be good for me, I dunno.

Best of luck.
