"Our troops are stuck between a president without a plan to succeed and a Congress without the courage to bring them home.

But Congress must answer to the American people. Tell Congress you know the truth - they have the power to end this war and you expect them to use it. When the president asks for more money and more time, Congress needs to tell him he only gets one choice: a firm timeline for withdrawal.

No timeline, no funding. No excuses.

It is time to end this war."

  I hope it`s on Youtube,or the like.

I want to share it .It should get quite a few hits.

It was a very candid,make-sense,logical, rebuttal.

You know what REALLY frosts my cookies? If Republicans referred to President Clinton as "Bill Clinton" they'd get slammed for having no respect? What ever happened to respecting the office/rank as opposed to the person?

Edwards’ Iraq Vote Explained
http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/20070314_edwards_iraq_vote_explained/

In an upcoming memoir, Bob Shrum, former adviser to John Edwards, says he pushed the then-senator to vote for the Iraq war authorization out of concern for his political future. Edwards denies the claim, saying of his vote: “It was not a political calculation. ... It was a mistake.”

-----

Well, maybe that account of why Edwards voted for the war is true - but he still voted for it despite his own views on it.

And it still really pisses me off.

Then again, Americans are literally so stupid that they can probably only accept a plan for getting out of a Iraq from someone that voted for the war in the first place. It's the whole Saddam - 9/11 connection thing.

???!!!

I can't hold people personally responsible for falling for the Bush Administration's coordinated conspiracy to deprive Congress of their lawful oversight. Edwards fell for the fraud.

Sad, but remember, it's the fault of the FRAUDSTER, not the victim of the fraud.

farglebargle:

Sorry, I can't buy into that argument. I wasn't buying the fraud back then - I was actively protesting both wars and trying to work against the fear that was fueling them.

But Edwards voted for the war. Yes he did.

Perhaps I haven't seen it - but has Edwards apologized for that vote? I could forgive it, but not just let it slide. And I could like someone that would admit a mistake. Not a political mistake - I want an apology for not voting for what he really believed instead of doing the politically expedient thing.

Voting for a war on that basis is sick! People's lives were in the balance.
