I have found that there are at least three girls  (well the photo shows a female) that have messaged me and my virus scan detected problems with the message. Also found this article on our local news site.

Microsoft has released four software patches to fix security flaws.

They include one that could allow hackers to take over computers running the company's instant messaging programs. One of the flaws carries the company's most severe ``critical'' rating, but it only applies to the older Windows 2000 operating system.

To be affected, a Microsoft security program manager says users would have to visit a Web site and install a program that could then run malicious code on their computers.

The other security vulnerabilities _ including the one affecting MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger _ were assigned the second-highest ``important'' rating.

The IM flaw would allow hackers to run malicious code on computers if users click on an instant message link inviting them to check out a video.

Analysts say hackers are beginning to target instant messaging programs because it's getting harder to trick people into clicking on links sent in e-mails.
Thought you may be interested and for those the virus scan I use is NOD32 it runs in the background and cover any items sent or received.  Just be very careful

It's quite impossible to transmit a virus through the collarme messaging system.  Only the most basic HTML functions are permitted, and only photos are allowed as attachments.  Neither are capable of executing any sort of code that could damage your system.

More likely, you've been looking at websites with the word 'russian' or 'teen' in the title, and your internet explorer has been infected.

In the future, you'd do well to address such problems to the administration of this site; your post goes directly against the forum guidelines.

With all due respect to Stephan it is possible for an image to transmit a virus if it's a specific format. This may have nothing to do with CM's messaging system or not. I'm not addressing that. Just making the point that certain images can spread viruses.
