this was a five way conversation I had the other day, 2 people were not into the lifestyle, my wife who is a true neophyte, myself who is alternatedly a jaded gobber or a puppy really eager to widdle on the carpet, and a vietnam fighter pilot who spent the last 20 years on the roads of the SE in a biker gang and is now practicing to be a catholic priest...  I mention the participants to look cool with the ecclectic band of fellows I travel with but also within this group a consensesus could not be found so I thought I would throw it out there for the public to devour then spit back up with their particular spin on it.

In a scene, only 5-7 people, and the energy isn't flowing...everybody is sorta acting like *same ole same ole* but they progress cuz it's do the scening or break out the trivial pursuit game and it is just sorta 'eh' for those involved.  My suggestion for the cure was the following:

blindfold the subs, and play mystery-spit swap, the winner would be the one who could pick out there Dom, of course this would only work assuming all doms were men and none were hung like a yellow #2 pencil or a miller beer bottle.

again blindfold the subs, throw everybody's spare change onto the floor and while the sub's search for the (only) penny in the mix of change have them be motivated by floggers.

create a merry-go-round (or sub-go-roudn if you're going to be techincal) where all subs have thier left wrist tied together forming a flowering bloom, with teh wrists in the center stem position, giving each sub a flogger as well as the doms then proceed to send the subs around the circle as the doms move on the outside of the circle..not really sure how this one ends til someone says uncle.

it was assumed all participants knew thier limits and knew the saftey concerns, so consider that caveat already taken care of.

but the responses I got were "it sounds like fun" to "was everyone only 12 at thier first birthday party?" so my quesiton, is when thigns are going less than well with a scene, do you dare silly for the sake of the evening..or is silly always silly and should be left in the plastic egg with the putty.

Dude, I live for silly.

I live for making bottoms scream with pain and laughter at the same time.

Silly kicks ass.  People who need their scenes to always be "serious" should just stay in their dark and moldy dungeon where they are happiest.

Silly is certainly welcome, however I don't view what you describe as acting silly... just turning the dial and juicing things up a notch :)

Silly rocks. I have a friend that insists that his girls wear hello kitty panties whenever they scene, to remind them that things aren't all that serious all the time. :)

Anyway, what you describe sounds like fun to me!

I don't know what you're talking about. I've scened with you and it was in no way silly.  In fact, I don't think any of us cracked a smile. ;)

id go for the fun, and silly might be part of that. But at some point, id want the fun to get real serious. And then it gets real fun.

Silly is fine, honestly laughter is essential in life. A couple of thoughts about this occurred.

If the subs are to pick out their doms by feeling their cocks, then this assumes all involved are okay with some form of poly. For some of us we don't play with others and others don't do anything sexual outside the primary relationship.

And personally I'd bow out of the wrist tying thing. Too much risk that one of the subs will stumble and that would wind up with all of them falling, unable to stop themselves, and wrenching their arms. Considering this has happened to me when it was only me falling over, and the arm didn't go back to normal for a couple of months, I wouldn't take the risk.

I have often said that anyone that finds, silly/obnoxious humour/laughter, offensive, should stay away from me. Life is just too short, and too precious, to take most of it seriously.

Silly is fun. I often giggle during scenes at play parties.

But I don't have an interest in the particular games you suggested.

Depends on the situation.

My advice is to throw it. See if it flies. If it doesn't, then haul out a board game, put on a dvd, or send everyone home.

So...generally..."ow that hurts!" "no shit!" hahahaha! from both parties is what a scene around me starts of as....and if I'm topping and the bottom can't see me "shhh...nobody tell her I'm doing this!" and something like a blindfold or some silly shit comes out...if I'm not laughing then I'm prolly dead or just gone.
