My son and I went to dinner tonight. The food was pretty good and after working a 14 hour day today, being waited on was wonderful. The overall experience was a decent one until I decided to use the restroom before we left.

I have to ask, what is wrong with people? I can not imagine that people act like such pigs in their own home. The place was disgusting. Not just your average dirty public restroom....disgusting enough that I opted to hold out until I got home and made a point of speaking to Mgmt before I left.

Why do some women think it is ok to not flush a toilet or properly dispose of personal products when it comes to a public restroom?

I recently had the same problem.  I drove from NY to Florida and was forced to use many public restrooms... seriously some were just down right vile.  Being I had to use one I brought lysol and fumigated the whole toilet seat and piled like a whole roll of tp on the seat, even then still didn't sit on the seat.  I wished so much that I was a guy and that I could just like pee outdoors somewhere lol.

Nope, but if there were they would probably have been covered in feces....as everything else in there seemed to be.

I must say I have wondered this myself...some public restrooms can be NASTY.  What I find strange is that womens tend to be the worst!

you could if you so choose to. Of course just like men if you choose the wrong area and get caught you'd go to jail.

not having a penis don't mean ya can't go into a private area and pee, ya just gotta be better at it.

I think its the whole idea that its nasty in the first place... so someone squats and sprays whatever it happens to be everywhere.  Makes the situation worse, but since they did it?

Stupid thing is if they were just cleaner there would never have been that issue to begin with.  Drives me crazy.

I notice there's one walmart here that their bathroom is always icky, the trash always needs taken care of, and the sinks are always soaking wet. The bathroom at On the boarder is nice, but last time we went there the towl dispenser was stuck so you couldn't dry your hands after washing them.

oh and divi I remember one time on vacation, we were at a grave yard, and I had to pee so bad there was no chance in hell I was making it back to town with out pissing myself, I went behind an old abandoned care taker's house and pissed in the weeds lol.

then again as kids we used to pee outside just cause we didn't wanna come in lol.

Obviously you have never been in a men's room after some half-brain has decided to mark his territory by hosing down the walls, the floor, the toilet exterior and seat, and everything but the bowl. Or when even dimmer bulbs wipe themselves and then choose to smear it all over the stall walls. This kind of thing really makes one wonder why they are still searching for the missing link. All they need to do is hang out in a public restroom. Some sub-human is bound to show up before long.

I had a friend in college who I thought had obsessive-compulsive disorder, because she carried in her purse these tissue toilet seat covers, that she used to cover toilet seats in public restrooms, and thus supposedly avoid many germs.

But years later, having seen many more public rest-rooms, I don't think she was actually that nutty for doing it. If it's really really bad, I usually mention it to the desk clerk, or hostess (or whoever I think can do something about  it), at a place of business. It is kind of inconsistent and a little shocking (to me) when a place is an otherwise very nice and clean facility, that this is allowed to happen.

I think it's because so many women have these ridiculous notions of cleanliness that they don't sit down when they go to the bathroom, so they spill (and it can be bad for the muscles and not letting all the stuff out of the body like it needs to), then they don't want to even TOUCH any flushing mechanism so they try, or give up, and they try to touch as little as possible so they use tissue to cover their hands and leave it all over the floors.

Not realizing of course that this behavior is what CREATES such a messy yucky place.

I had no idea women had these issues until I started working in a big corporate office.  Women are just psycho I tell you.

I admit I've occasionally left a toilet unflushed, but that's usually when the mechanism just won't work after a few tries and I need to get going.

Sounds like they need a U.S. SENATOR in there to pick up all the toilet paper off the floor.

I am hereby lodging a public complaint about those awful air-hand dryers some restrooms install, vs. just having paper towels to use to dry your hands after you wash them. I realize this isn't particularly "ecologically friendly" of me - but they:

1) Take what seems like forever to dry your hands, and -

2) Don't really do an efficient job ayway, IMO.

Maybe this is another reason toilet paper is all over the floor in some public rest-rooms?

I know when I run across them in public rest-rooms, I usually dodge into a stall, and take some toilet paper, so I can actually get my hands dry after I wash them. Also so I don't have to put up with the glares of the people standing behind me, waiting for the air-dryer to dry my hands, so they can use it.

One reason why I carry portable seat covers, a small can of oust and have disinfecting whipes in my purse at all times. A few small things to carry with you that don't take up much room and are a life saver and worth it.

I also learned how to 'hold it 'for a long time, it may be bad for me, but, its better than the 'yuck' alternative.

.....oh you.......thanks for the laugh!  Erin, I really don't know what compels people either.  At the library I used to work in, we had two small public restrooms with two stalls each.  At least once a week, there was some grisly mess in at least one of them.  I think there must have been a rash of escaped mental patients or something judging from all the feces-smearing-on-walls going on.  Makes the mind reel when thinking of what these animals' homes must look like.............luci

Hah!  This thread reminds me!  I wanted to start one the other day.

You see, at the public bathrooms at the university, a lot of guys just go into the stalls and pee.  With seat still down.  And get their piss all over it.  When the urinals are completely free, no one's looking.

A more violent me would probably have started a fight over it a moment later, after thinking about it, and seeing some idiot walking into the stall and doing the exact thing I was peeved about.  Ah, to be fourteen again.

I know there is a product women can use to piss standing up. Basically its a plastic tube, almost like a test tube or one of those tubes used to measure liquid meds, with a small hole in the end. The woman holds the one end over her urethra and well it then becomes and artificial cock. I once stumbled on a site selling them along with a carrying bag, when I was searching for some watersports sites. It seemed like a good product and had lots of positive customer feedback.

What really gets me is the women who are so afraid of picking up germs that they cover the entire toilet seat with toilet paper, do their business and then leave that toilet paper all over the seat for someone else to remove. Or they use paper towels to turn on the water to wash their hands and leave the paper towel on the faucet handle so someone else has to touch it...or the door handle, same issue. You don't want to touch MY pee or pick up MY germs...well guess what, I don't want yours either ya dumb bitch!
