A couple of days ago, my car refused to start. I've had a few old cars in my time, and I know the drill: Gas, air and spark, if ya got these three things, it should run. Well, it had gas, a good hot spark, and the air was fine, still wouldn't fire. After checking a few other things, I got into the under hood fuse board, and found that the fuel pump/injector fuse was blown. Replacing it resulted in it immediately blowing again, and still not starting.
Well, electricity is my weak point, so I called on an uncle who is a certified mechanic and we got together with a multitester and my car. After checking the continuity of all the injectors, all the wires, and finding no obvious shorts, we decided to try starting the car again, with a heavier fuse. Well, it actually ran for about 2 seconds before blowing the fuse. Here comes the weird part, when I disconnected the wiring harness for the injectors again, gassoline poured out of it.
Yes, that's what I said, gassoline inside an electrical connection that is at least 12" away from any source of gassoline.
I have a theory of what has happened, but I'll hold onto it for a while, meantime, what do y'all think, any ideas?

sounds like maybe a failed fuel pressure sensor. Where else is fuel close to your harness?

The harness is the drive wires for the fuel injectors. 7 of the 10 wires on that connection (6 drivers and 1 common) connect directly to one or more of the 6 injectors. The gass must have found its way into the connection through one of those wires, there's just no other way.

Sounds like you should be glad that fuse blew...
