I saw that on the news yesterday.  Popsecret does not list any butter flavorings as ingredients other than real butter.  At least that is what the 100 calorie mini packs says, I checked right before I saw this thread.  Also Popweaver does not list it as ingredient according to the news program.

It's not eating the popcorn, it's inhaling the fumes from "butter flavored" popcorn that seems to be dangerous. Perhaps holding your breath while you eat it may help.

Anyone who consumes several bags of popcorn a day, every day, for several years, has a lot more problems than inhaling butter flavor fumes. Cripes.

Personally, I like to get unflavored microwave popcorn, particularly white, as it pops up better than the flavored kinds... then I melt half a stick of REAL butter and... enjoy! ;)  Since I'm on Atkins, of course, it's the popcorn not the butter that is bad, but I'm not a big popcorn fan anyway, I might go through a whole 6-pack of microwave popcorn in a year. Maybe.

Tell me this isn't so? Does this mean my popcorn eating habit is the cause of my problems, yikes? I wonder if I cut down to say.....3 lbs a week and maybe my problems won't be so bad!

Hi, my name is bear...and I am a popcorn addict.

Maybe the site owners of "Death Clock" needs to add popcorn to their list of life shortening things, like cars, booze, cigarettes, and risky behavior.

Obviously popcorn eating should be regulated. There should be a $3.00/package tax added to all popcorn sales to offset the health cost exposure to the public. Why should I be exposed to second hand popcorn fumes?! It would be different if the people eating popcorn put the bag over their head as they eat it, but that open bag exposes me to the toxic aftermath of their filthy addiction.
I plan on enforcing a popcorn free working environment and will only hire non-popcorn eating new employees.

Your post would be funny, except that a year from now some lawmaker will be repeating your words but actually meaning them.

Trust that you keep it locked up and away from any children. Just to be safe, maybe you should also have a lock on the microwave. Who knows what can happen if an innocent child picks up one of your unpopped kernel butts and decides to experiment.

People who put their kids in harms way, exposing them to 2nd hand popcorn fumes shouldn't be allowed to have children. If you have to feed your disgusting habit - do so outside.

This is great.  I'm sending this link to all my popcorn munching co-workers the next time they flip me crap about coming in from a break, smelling like cigarette smoke.

(Just a silly thought but....the way you get out of this thing...is...a lung transplant.  Now I know it seems a little odd...but, truly...I have a pantry the size of most peoples living rooms....I like to wake up at 3 in the morning and have what I want...right fucking now...when I fucking want it.  Oreo's, Peanut butter sandwiches, Chicken Noodle soup, and of course...Popcorn.  I really like the fact that when I wake up at some obscure time...I can go get whatever I want...and not have to go through a scanner...and I have 27 boxes {which each have 12 microwave packages) of popcorn. And I can't eat any of them now).

They'll all cause lung cancer of some sort.

(I need a cigarette).

If popcorn is a killer.....Imagine the countless corpses who passed on from catching the all to often fragrant whiff of a "Summers Eve?"
