ORIGINAL: YourhandMyAss I have to many favs to list and why, but one was Anita blake vampire hunter series, and I liked it because, it was a good mix of fantasy with a good mix of mundain, and cause some of the ocasional sex scenes were really very hot. Lovely bones I disliked very much though. Yes! That is one of my favorites too, for the same reasons and I like that she is a strong female character with interesting moral dilemmas although I have to say some of the books didn't have much of a story. My other fav is the Wheel of Time series. He pulls in bits and pieces of all different kinds of cultures and religions, colorful characters, and has many subplots along with the major plot. He also mixes in a sense of ancient civilizations along with prophecy, romance, danger, intrigue and the supernatural. The only thing is that it's a long series with a lot of time inbetween so it can be easy to forget who's who and some of his books seemed to introduce more subplots than resolving/progressing existing ones. I also loved To Kill a Mockingbird - oddly enough, never had to read it in school, but a good friend said it was her favorite book and I can see why. The movie is great, too.
