ORIGINAL: Blaakmaan Perhaps its understandable that some white men, including some who posted after me, feel that, because of affirmative action and whatever else, they are being discriminated against. They feel they're getting the short end of the stick. Personally, I find that almost funny! White men have more of everything that's worth having (like power and wealth), and less of what's not worth having (like poverty and sickness), than anybody else. In my humble opinion, being born a white man in America (and most everywhere else!) is like hitting the lottery! Well, Cuckme4Life got the essence of it, although in much more emotional terms than I would have stated it. I'm white, and no one gave me a silver spoon, and I've won no lotteries. When I was young, there were always someone who was better looking/smarter/more advantaged/richer than me, and I was discriminated - discriminated ya hear - against! By the girls, 'cause I didn't have a fancy new car bought by my parents .... I didn't look as good as Wesley Snipes, and I didn't play sports like Michael Jordan, or make music like Michael Jackson ... They wouldn't make me the captain of the basketball team (hell, I didn't even make the team) ... They wouldn't let me play in the band (it shouldn't matter that I can't hold a note, damnit!) ... They didn't let me play the lead in the senior school play (but I did get to play the deaf and dumb villiage simpleton) ... And, most wrong and racist of all ... the girls didn't fall all over me, trying to get me into their beds! But ... Over the years, I figured out how to make the best of what I did have, despite all the prejudice against me, all the discrimination in the world against the un-athletic, non-musically talented, sports challenged people of the world ... The first thing I had to chuck was the worry about what I didn't have, and figure out how to get what I wanted despite those lacks and obstacles. It's called growing up, and, while racism and prejudice does exist in the world, it is rarely as simple as only white against black ... and in my opinion, some of the most racist people in the US today have a different skin color than the one I was born with. quote:
ORIGINAL: Blaakmaan It's not about behavior, it's about RACE! As a side note, although I'm a newbie to BDSM, and a newbie on these forums, I have already seen (it's not hard!) how race plays itself out on CM. But, maybe that's a topic for another post... It's always about behavior. Period. So ... how does race "play itself out on CM"? Firm
