Status: offline 		tough choice between Annie and Karen, but in the end I think Karen Carpenter's voice had a bit more, I don't know, smoothness to it.

For vocal ability how about Billie Holliday, Sara Vaughn, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Reba McIntyre, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, and probably quite a few opera singers that would qualify as well.

Definitely Etta and Gladys, but I just saw Heart last week and Ann Wilson is way the hell up there for me :)
