I never heard of using butter knives for mindfucks until I came to these boards. Master has a bowie knife and a small sword. He uses them both. Doesn't really boil down then to the level of trust in the relationship? i do not wish to be cut but i have had some of the best scenes ever when knives were involved. And yes, i learned the hard way not to wear the really expensive lingerie during a knife scene.

I only use sharp knives during knife play myself- I can't judge a dull knife as accurately. I'm afraid that knife play, usually, does little for me. It's nice for a few minutes of sensation and sensitization, but generally, I get bored. As a fear junkie, I get off on fear, and playing with most knife players, you KNOW they aren't going to do anything, you KNOW they are careful...and frankly whispering into my ear one more time "Don't more or you'll be missing a nipple" really doesn't do it for me. Well...son of a bitch....apparently, I have been living on the edge and acting recklessly with the dull blade I use to peel cooled wax off a girl's body. Edited to Add : I also have never taken a class on knifeplay nor do I really feel the need to since I was a born with a chef's knife in hand and also work as a butcher.

I was having a conversation on knifeplay today with a friend that has expressed interest. Knifeplay is something I take a real liking to. Having made knives for 20 years and with a great interest in thier uses, I am a firm believer in the idea that a sharp blade is a safe blade. That being, when it is intended as a cutting tool. Knifeplay for me is not about cutting, nor the risk of bloodletting, which is a limit for me. The created illusion to the mind and through the senses, is what it is about for me. Combining illusions through touch, sight, sound, and even taste and smell. It is amazing what the mind will tell the senses, with the right input.

I love knifeplay and for me that does equal blood all the time! safewords?? what are those? i personally didn't need one and for me that works. He knew me and i trusted Him. for us that was enough... i also lost my perfect subbie slave how to do bdsm handbook years ago and was happiest when i threw that thing in the bondfire. there is no complete right or wrong way to do and live this lifestyle.. it's only what works best for You and Your partner. everything else is just someone's opinion.. and i wouldn't let someone's opinion rule my life.. would you? colleen

I like doing patterns, have seen a few replies from others who do such, any more ideas? Painting hot wax on the skin and taking it off with a knife, geometric patterns and words, love that when spanked, otherwise unnoticeable scars from a prior scene coming to the surface of the skin is great....never thought much about the hot/cold knives, I certainly shall now lol. I do like most of my knives clean and razor sharp, aside from the mindfuck switch-out to dull lol.....even varieties of swords, broadsword spanking anyone? lol

I wouldn't play with someone I didn't trust and if I played with someone I trusted, I would not be afraid ... it's just sensation play then, which is also nice, don't get me wrong.
