I wont say names because I do not feel that forums are the proper place, but this is a really bad situation I believe.

If it's this bad, perhaps dropping a name IS in order, so this won't happen again?

There isnt anything you can do since there is really nothing technically wrong with how she behaved. For some people thats ok.
You can report the emails themselves for harassment, and if theres anything actually against the TOS in the profile you can report that.  However there is no <tacky> button and there is no <danger> button. Unfortunately, the only way to rid yourself of them is to block them, and everyone else has to trust  their own instincts when it comes to meeting.

And name dropping is againts the TOS, the thread would be pulled and no one would be any the wiser

She did nothing legally wrong.  Lots of people like to meet anonymously with little info exchanged.  Just because that's not your style doesn't mean the other person is fake.  Delete and move on.

ignore, snore, and forge on.

The issue was more with the fact this person is now wanting to meet for a session out of what is obviously anger, and in my opinion should never be done.  Tacky is one thing, unsafe is another.

Aileen68 -> RE: Is there a report system for this site?? (8/31/2007 11:24:34 AM)

It's only possibly unsafe if you show up for the meeting.  Otherwise, delete the email and don't give it a second thought.

I don't see anything wrong with her response.

Some people don't regard that as bad and you have to accept that.

Just because I don't do something does not prevent others from doing it. And certainly you can not report them for having a session in anger.

KatyLied -> RE: Is there a report system for this site?? (8/31/2007 11:27:31 AM)

Yep, you are overreacting.  For all we know they are having a good laugh at getting you so upset over this.

NightSoftWhisper -> RE: Is there a report system for this site?? (8/31/2007 11:28:30 AM)

If you were to report every fake on this site, you'd spend your day doing nothing more. Sadly it seems to be the rule rather than the exception here.

texancutie -> RE: Is there a report system for this site?? (8/31/2007 11:31:13 AM)

Not sure how reporting this person to CM would help, or accomplish anything.  Sure there are scary people out there, but in time they usually give themselves away.  Sounds like a huge banner size red flag to me.  I don't think anyone can really police the net for nuts, liars, users or abusers.  That is where good judgement comes in.  You just decide to not ever meet them is all.  Hopefully the next person will be smart enough to do the same.  Am keeping my fingers crossed, it's rough out there sometimes.   Also, this person didn't really threaten you or anyone...so until they do or if they ever do, no point in contacting website admins unless it happens.

InsAndOutsFL -> RE: Is there a report system for this site?? (8/31/2007 11:33:19 AM)

Aint that the truth.  From now on we will just stick to different sites I think.  She met once off of here and ended up in trouble, it was bad and now a year later we come back to try again just to find this.  I blocked it the moment I read it, but the thought of some of the younger and newer subs here having to learn the hard way like we did really didnt sit right.  But I guess that is not the concenses here, and to a point I guess I understand it.

Sorry, but theres just no point in reporting someone for being an idiot.....can you even imagine the number of times I would have been reported by now if that was the case??!

Sorry that this situation didnt work out for you, kudos for being smart enough to see it as a possible unsafe situation and refuse to go, but other than that nifty little "block" button, not much you can do....

~edited for being an idiot with spelling and grammer....see....I proved my own point!!

They didn't do anything wrong. You don't actually know what would have happened. It could have been "dirty talk", which some people find arousing. And, as already pointed out, some people like annoymous sex. Enough to where there is a demand for it.

Newer and younger isn't an excuse to ignore common sense either. When I was 18 and meeting people off dating sites, I met them on my turf - usually outside my dojo after class was out and my friends and teacher were still around - and when I had enough information about them where I was comfortable. We drove seperate cars, went to a popular and public place to eat dinner and I drove home by myself when we were done, making sure I wasn't being followed.

No, they won't if they follow the same rules in meeting people that they do offline. Newer and younger has nada to do with engaging in online dating while intoxicated on stupid.

I am not a sub, but man am I ever fucking tired of this "protect the poor helpless subbie" shit. What makes you so sure they are all so stupid, isn't it just a little bit possible that the subs on here are aware of what they want and don't want. Just because somebody is young or new it does not mean they are as gullible as it would appear you were.
