I have both a TEN's unit and a Violet wand.  I use both whenever I can.

Violet wands are electrostatic generators.  They produce 50,000 volts at full power.  DO NOT use them on people with hearing aids or pacemakers.  It will fry them. (As well as cell phones and a computer if it gets too close.  I have never used mine for any kind of internal play.  The glass adapters are too fragle for that (In my opinion).

I like to turn mine down low and ground myself to the wand (making me an attachment).  When you drag your fingers over the subs skin, it feels as if each fingertip is a tiny viberator.  Drawing a butter knife over the skin feels as if you are actually cutting them.

When buying one, make sure you get one with a ceramic core instead of a bees wax core.  You can run a ceramic one longer.  They generate a lot of heat and the bees wax will eventually melt.

I bought my Violet Wand from huse.com.

TEN's units work internally on your muscles.  There are special pads you can get to use on a womans breast.  But you do have to make sure that you do not make a path that will travel through the heart muscle.

I cheated and bought my unit online from a company called Tone-a-matic (google it).  They sell unit with 4-32 pads on the unit.  My 4 pad unit cost me around $150 when I bought it 10 years ago

Oh yeah.. forgot the rest of your question while I was writing my response.

Pricing:
TENS costs about $40 if you have a prescription from a Dr. (I actually got two of my TENS units free from my insurance company. The down side to that was I needed them for pain relief and used them more for that than for kink.) If you don't have a prescription, expect to pay about $125 from a fetish site. (RIMBA is a brand name of one of the TENS boxes.) TENS accessories are sold separately and are moderately priced.

The PES power box costs about $250. Accessories are sold separately and are quite expensive. http://www.peselectro.com/

The ErosTEK is about $350. Accessories are sold separately and are expensive. http://www.erostek.com/

The Folsom has a couple of models and ranges from about $250 to $375. Accessories are sold separately and are expensive. http://www.folsomelectric.com/

The Violet Wand kits range from about $400 to about $600 and comes with some accessories. You can buy other attachments separately and many are moderately priced. http://www.violetwand.org/

There are adaptors that let many of the attachments be used with other boxes than those for which they are marketed. You can find electrostim items for sale on Extreme Restraints http://www.extremerestraints.com/ and JT's Stockroom http://www.stockroom.com/

Also, I should have mentioned, prolonged play with TENS, RIMBA, PES and that type of electro stim can sometimes result in electrolyte depletion. You can treat this with rest, sports drinks and fruit. I find that gatorade and grapes or a banana are good. This is NOT a time to have the person who experienced the electroplay fetch their own drink as the electrolyte depletion leaves you feeling fairly sick. I've found that with just the gatorade, feeling sick lasts for over an hour. When you add the fruit to the mix, the person is feeling human again in about a half hour. In any case, a person with electrolyte depletion is done with play for the time being!

But you do have to make sure that you do not make a path that will travel through the heart muscle.

That made me think about digging out the booklet that came with one of my TENS..

Warnings from my prescribed TENS' accompanying pamphlet

TENS Electrodes should never be placed:
  • On or near the eyes
  • In the mouth
  • Transcerebrally (on each temple)
  • On the front of the neck (due to the risk of acute hypotension [blood pressure that is much lower than usual] through a vasovagal reflex)
  • On areas of numb skin/decreased sensation
  • On broken skin areas or wounds
  • On or near the trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve) if you have a history of herpes zoster induced trigeminal neuralgia (Postherpetic neuralgia)

I've been warned by Drs against using a TENS transthoracically, transgenitally, transcerebrally, and that it should be used with caution around acupuncture points and in people with epilepsy or heart problems and women who are menstruating or pregnant. (aka, over or around the uterus on these women.) TENS should NEVER be used on someone with a pacemaker due to risk of interference with and failure of the device. (That doesn't just mean use near their heart.. that means anywhere!)

Oh yeah, and you can get those tit electrode things at http://www.buyamag.com/ems_tens_accessories.php

something they don't tell you is that those pads can be wahed and re used several times. remove from electrical source wash with soap and water then let air dry

If turned up too high, it can be painful if you're looking to torture a female. (They really should mark the dials better for low light usage! OW)

That's one of the things that really has me thinking about upgrading to an Erostek unit... i have one of the pager-sized TENS, and itty-bitty knobs they use to adjust power have resulted in some very unpleasant surprises!

Incidentally, with the several different source units, different types of cords, and numerous manufacturers of accessories, it can be a little overwhelming to figure out what you can use with what... My solution was to cut the wires coming off of the source unit and add quick-disconnect terminals, and put matching terminals on all the different types of wires i had laying around.

A benefit of this method is that it then becomes very simple to make your own accessories, starting with a simple pair of wires with a pair of alligator clips on the ends...

They're very intense to use directly on the skin, but if you wrap a piece of bare copper wire several times around a body part, then attach the clip to the wire... you can explore a much wider range of sensation. Using a large electrode on one part of the body, then using a single piece of stiff wire as the other, will focus almost all of the sensation at the end of the wire... When the skin is sweaty, or misted with a little salt water, the feeling can be very much like a knife or branding iron. The basic idea extends nicely to things like Wartenburg wheels, brass brushes, copper scouring pads, light chains, trailer hitch balls... LOTS of stuff out there conducts electricity [:)]

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: Electrosexual (8/31/2007 6:38:45 AM)

i have used them all and maxed them.. i do know the self adheasive pads work the best you do not have to use the eletrogel with them. P E S makes some of the best attachments make sure you get the wires and adaptors to. make sure the are you play with is clean. that there is no hair or anything or you will burn the area.  most of the units have a 80 mil amp out put. my libra  has a 100 mil amp out put works great for the lower back muscles lol.. i have used them in all areas  seperat channels
on the nipples.. one thing when play with insertables make sure you make someone else buy their pads or insertable stuff. these items re exspensive. erostek 312 is the most versitle unit they make to models.. there some lady in uk that uses ac i am curious to see what unit that is lol.. i never do anything that is unsafe or will cause damage. also look for rashes make sure if they appear  that you treat them accordingly  most those are commong with plasma burns from the violet wand.

ranrich -> RE: Electrosexual (8/31/2007 7:00:14 AM)

I have been e-stimming for around 10 years. No domme should be without an e-stim unit but learn to use it correctly because getting the most out of it depends on experience. You should try it on yourself before using it on someone else. It is said that they should only be used below the waist and that is probably good advice. I have a prodomme friend who introduced me to e-stim and she plays it like a musical instrument. I started out with a baby tens unit, graduated to Folsom units, then another cheap tens, a professional tens but no longer use any of that stuff. Let me advise you to skip all the afore mentioned and go to the good stuff. You won't be sorry. Go to Erostek home page. I have had a ET 302R for a lot of years. It is 2 channels, the size of a pack of cigs and remote controlled. Have a ET312 which is the honcho of units. 2 channels, endless possibilities, rechargeable battery good for 100s of recharges, more power than you can use. Just got a ET301R. Same as the 302R but one channel, smoother, more adjustable. If you don't want to jump right in or aren't sure you want to spend that much money, find a domme or dom if that is your bent and have a trial. HFO are the norm for me. Go to SmartStim.com and read and look. Imagine being out to dinner with you favorite domme. You are hooked up with a remote controlled unit. The unit is in your coat pocket no larger than a pack of playing cards. Your friend across the table reaches in her purse and presses a button and suddenly an almost unbearable sensation is felt in your nether regions. She smiles and it stops but you know that the evening is not over!
