Well at least its not as messy as the human counterpart or if it is it didnt show up on camera.
Never understood the sentimental attitude to the act of childbirth. I mean the actual act not the miracle that it actually is.

And it has come about by chance processes ...so some believe.

Actually Seeks, I had my baby in a pool at St Thomas in London. It wasn't messy at all, and I think I rather looked like that Beluga whale :-)

It made me believe giving birth to babies in water makes much more sense than being splayed open on a table with your feet on stirrups: you are right. That is messy.

Apparently the baby whale is doing really whal... sorry really well. I like water mammals.

Why is it that so many whales are chubby? Don't get me wrong I actually prefer a fuller-figured cetacean (within reason).

But why are there so many? Does it have to do with low self-esteem? Or are heavy whales more sexually liberated in their thinking? Or are they more sexually desperate?

Your thoughts?

gentlethistle -> RE: Baby Beluga Whale born for the cameras! (8/18/2007 10:09:23 AM)

At 18 ft and 3,300 lbs  the BMI of an adult Beluga whale would be 49.7

Sorry, I couldn't help myself calculating that...and then I felt the need to share.

Laura

well, right behind the caviar it is a reason that many were flensed in the old days.

I love how you capitalised each word on that sentence: it adds a certain sinister 'je ne sais quoi', an ominous sense of doom to the whole thing... it's The End... Of The World... As We Know It...

I'm glad you liked it, cuddleheart.

The tone was fait accompli, in my mind.
