You obviously have too much on your plate for one person to cope with. 'Sounds to me like you need to start by talking through what is in your mind; I'd suggest someone with whom you can open up.

Me again, this business of liking yourself, which a couple of posters have picked up on,most definitely does not mean trying to be perfect at all times for all people. It just means recognising what you are with some good points and some not so good. Just like everybody else in fact !
If you try to be perfect you will fail yourself and end up letting others walk all over you..

As for therapy, well I dont know, sounds to me as tho' a sensible mature female friend is what might help you..

Wishing you well Aunty Seeks.

I learned that a pimple or a broken nail was NOT an occassion to call an ambulance!!LOL.

'Any chance you can share this snippet of wisdom with the other 30 million English women?........

LOL, now don't be cheeky, or I'll have to bring up the whole "man cold" thing. Yes, we all know "a man cold" is diabolical and cause death at any moment if he doesn't IMMEDIATELY get the tissues, pat on the head, TV, soup, jelly, blanket, toast, painkillers, video, dvd, magazine, book he left on the couch, newpaper...............................

Again, your wisdom amazes me Seeks. Thank you soo much for the advice and I think you are right.

NG, I love your signature! I tried to think of something witty to put in mine, but it seems, like men, All the good ones are taken

Millessande: You sound so sweet. I am so sorry for your past troubles. Some people don't deserve the children they are blessed with (even if you do love your mother, it was wrong, IMO, for her to expose you to all of that. But, what's done is done  I suppose).

I have a niece about your age - and she was getting pretty serious with this real Loser. She is pretty, bright and a very hard worker. He was lazy, a dim-wit, and treated her pretty badly. I had to ask myself: Why? Still don't know. My entire family is very glad they recently broke up. Not that your significant one is a Loser - maybe he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. But - what I mean to say is:

You have your whole life ahead of you - don't settle for just any an that comes along - you have plenty of time. Make sure to live a little (or a lot) before you settle down. When one has had these kind sof troubles, sometimes any security seems better than what may have come before.

Problem is, you have a skewed basis for comparing what would be valuable to you in reality, because the past screwed up your conception of what could actually be very good for you really might look like.

So you wonder to yoruself: Is this really good for me, or not? I get that. So that is my argument for waiting awhile. After a few more years of running your own life, and having more experience, you'll be better able to tell the difference, probably. Good luck.

- Susan

Thank you, I feel that that is what is right and what I should do, I just lose track sometimes... and the submissive side of me just will not allow me to let a man down... Even when I know that I should do what is best for me. I always find myself compromising to make others happier...

SusanofO -> RE: How do you tell the difference between... (8/18/2007 1:33:36 AM)

Millessande: I know what you mean. I am a Switch, but my submissive side is at least 50% of my personality in the D/s world. You have every right to a happy and long existence - no matter what anyone else wants - submissive or not.

Remember that part, and you'll be okay. You're welcome and good luck, sweetie.[:)]
