favesclava  - I think the other uses for ginger root that Durus was talking about is something called Figging.  This is where a dominant takes a finger of ginger and bruises the outside skin and then inserts it into a submissive's anus.  It creates a series of sensations from burning to heightened arousal.  I've seen this done before and it is very interesting.

My apologies. i guess i learned something new.

I had a root canal that let go recently and found that in a pinch peppermint oil worked too... but hands down clove oil works the best.

wrap a string around the tooth.....and yank forcefully..or you could use some pliers and..pull[:D] self service is always very quick...
but dude nah I feel ya I'd go for the dope myself[&:] painkillers n more painkillers....I don't know if putting ice by the place where the tootache is works? (on the outside..not inside your mouth) it works on swellings by the tooth but don't know if it helps with toothache..hope you'll live 'till thursday [:)]

anyone else find amazing, yet strange, ways to handle pain without drugs?

Yup... the last time I had a toothache, I drank an 8-pack of Guinness Draft (14.9 ounce cans).

Worked like a charm.

I got through a weekend before a Monday dentist visit, with headache powder sprinkled right on the tooth area, and SKYY Berry, taken internally. [;)]

the warm salt water works great then also use the mouthwash with antiseptic helps keep the bacteria down

Cloves work- and this is really silly but............ hold an ice cube tight in your fist
I've had toothaches and had to wait days. Those two things believe it or not did bring a bit of comfort

I did not read the entire thread yet.......
Swt,
Your response prompted to me to check out acupunture sites.  They all seem to agree applying pressure as you indicate.  However, they advise to do this with the hand that corresponds with side of the toothache.   I never knew .......thanks for sharing that.

Ouch toothache, not nice....I'm terrified of the dentist aswell..... what a wuss I am.  Anyway, a thin slice of potato held next to the offending tooth might help... no idea why but, I got told it when my wisdom teeth were on the move and it worked.

Told a friend about it once but, didnt mention the slice should be thin - I was highly amused when I turned up to find half a spud wedged in their mouth [:D]

Hope you get sorted soon
