ORIGINAL: yourdarkdesire I want proof that you're little Sappa - send pictures. How does one snap a picture of one's mind? Ummm. . . I think that they use a REALLY big magnet and a contrast solution. Yep yep yep. I probably shouldn't admit this in front of you sadists, but I'm claustrophobic. There will be no REALLY big magnet involved. Contrast solutions I can deal with, REALLY big magnet in the shape of a ring barely larger than a regular donut... no way. They have open ones now. And they actually can sedate you. Yes, I know they do but the neurologists around these parts do NOT use them for the resolution and clarity of the open tables is about half of what the closed cylindrical tables are. Also, the last time I went for an MRI, I told the techs I needed to be sedated due to my claustrophobia, they contacted the neuro to see what sedative could be used, and the neuros said any sedative would mess up the results he was looking for. No sedatives. The MRI was not done.
