I`ve heard this from the right,in various forms and strengths,for years.On Fox News,Rush Limbaugh,Michael Savage,Bob Grant,etc.

This nuckle head, like most of the cool-aid drinker, doesn`t realize that American IS united, only it`s aginst the war.

What this douche bag wants,is an attack on us,so that we`ll fall behind bush.As horrible as it sounds, there`s a lot of "folks" who wish for an attack.

What this douche bag also doesn`t understand,is that another 9/11 type attack may well not help bush.

Did you read the story out yesturday that said that even the Democratic party admits we will be in Iraq for "years to come?" The Dems have no intention of ending this war even if they cruise to victory in November 2008.
In fact I would not be surprised if a Democrat like Hillary wins and then the nation is attacked again. That will give the political cover necessary to reinstitute the draft. The Dems are not an anti-war party. And that is a very big lesson that the far-left is going to end up learning the hard way over the next 5 years.

Dennis Kucinich is right when he says that the Democrats have the votes to end the war right now. They do. The house controls the budgets. The Democrats can simply shut off the funding and the war will end. The Dems will not do this though. One reason is because they think the war gurantees that the left-wing will come out in droves to vote for anyone with a "D" after their name. They need that anti-war vote in order to win elections.
But also the other reason is because they don't have the balls to do it. They dont have the balls to stand up to Bush on anything!

Unlike the GOP, the Dems don`t walk in lock step. Marshaling Democrats, is like herding cats.

The house and senate are divided almost 50/50.Just peel away a few on either side, and nothing gets passed. When our majority grows, there`ll be less ability for the GOP to continue the war in Iraq.

The fact remains that America wants out of Iraq, what ever happens in DC.

A huge loss?  If you look at the article it has been passed a few times, and then stripped out in confrence because the Senate Democrats absolutly refuse to sign any such nonsense.

This would be a perfect time to again ask for owner 59 or any democrat to explain why the Democratic led congress not only approved but expanded Bushes ability to monitor phone calls and e- mails without a warrant.

And how exactly does a local collumnist at a minor local paper become the "Mainstream Media"?

Oh, I expect that there will be plenty of rationalizations as to why the Patriot Act, and war, and abuse of the Constitution are a 'good thing' if done by the right people.
Expect to hear 'but that's different' pretty often as well.

When the left and right argue, it's like watching two people argue about a point that the other never made.

The simple truth is that most American are in favor of combatting international terrorism. They just don't think Iraq was in any way part of that effort.

The Democratic party is far-left ? Woah. Goes to show how far right the political climate has gone.

Far right? There is very little actually conservative about Bush. Look at the major pubbie candidates for president...A few of them could easily change party affiliation without changing their positions at all. Very few are willing to buck the trend of liberalism...and the reult is that they are in the basement with the exception of a few caucuses.

Stu Bykofsky can kiss my a$$. That is sick. That is just sick. I would NOT rally to Bush if some F-wad blew up Cub's park. I would hold him responsible. He has held our entire country hostage on the premise that Iraq was somehow linked to Al-Qaeda when the truth is that the secular Saddam, and the Fundamentalist Bin Laden HATED one another. This is not a war 'against' terror. It never was.

Alumbro, I would expect that also, but seem unable to get a response.....

Caitlyn, I think you make a very good point.  I think that vote was a foreshadowing of how the Presidential Election will go down in 08.
