ORIGINAL: daizey I will be travelling to Europe and UK in October and are looking for a quiet and private place to stay for a week or two. Preferably a small cottage or similar I can rent. Self catering, somewhere preferably outside of London or in france. Does not need to be touristy, a small village will do. As you know our lifestyle is not quiet and do not want to stay anywhere, where we will attract attention. Any sugestions please? Daizey, do you mean just outside of London, or anywhere but London? If it's anywhere but London, then try Cornwall. There are loads of cottages for rent, fantastic coast line and countryside, quiet, historic etc: you can't go wrong. If it's just outside London, you could try the South Coast - somewhere like Sussex - 'will be a one hour train journey into London, again right on the coast and quiet, or try Kent as it's a bit closer - also known as The Garden of England. You'll be able to find something on the internet easy enough. http://www.french-country-cottages.co.uk/partners/FCC/index.asp France http://www.cornishcottageholidays.co.uk/propertylocations.asp?id=9 Cornwall http://www.kentholidaycottages.co.uk/ Kent
