daizey -> suitable accomodation in UK/France (8/11/2007 11:02:35 PM)

I  will be travelling to Europe and UK in October and  are looking for a quiet and private place to stay for a week or two. Preferably a small cottage or similar  I can rent. Self catering, somewhere preferably outside of London or in france. Does not need to be touristy, a small village will do. As you know our lifestyle is not quiet and do not want to stay anywhere, where we will attract attention. Any sugestions please?

Daizey, do you mean just outside of London, or anywhere but London?

If it's anywhere but London, then try Cornwall. There are loads of cottages for rent, fantastic coast line and countryside, quiet, historic etc: you can't go wrong.

If it's just outside London, you could try the South Coast - somewhere like Sussex - 'will be a one hour train journey into London, again right on the coast and quiet, or try Kent as it's a bit closer - also known as The Garden of England.

You'll be able to find something on the internet easy enough.

Yeah, as a result of the recently redrafted European Union constitution. The French don't mind; they're too busy burning trucks to notice.

Bugger, I hope they didn't move it near Leeds. I'll never find My way home.

By all accounts, the Parisians share your sentiment ;-)

Paris in Yorskhire :-) Don't think the Parisians would get much change out of the locals!

MsSophie: I thought about applying for the post as houseboy but as you insist on chastity I've changed my mind.
Since you know the word "barmy" I assume you are English.lol

MsSophie -> RE: suitable accomodation in UK/France (8/12/2007 6:29:08 AM)

Oh, bugger! Shouldn't have mentioned the old "C word", should I?
Actually, I'm as Swedish as they come - with a bit of German, French and Belgian mixed in for good meassure. My partner's British, though, and I've lived over there for a few years.

If your'e Swedish then I'm a Turnip.

MsSophie -> RE: suitable accomodation in UK/France (8/12/2007 6:51:07 AM)

Must be related to me, then... The Turnip is the name I go by at home, when I do something particularly barmy

All Swedes are Blonde, its a known fact,  except after they have been cooked, then they go a nice shade of Yellow.
