Gov Mitt Romney won the 2007 Ames straw poll, receiving 4516 votes, or 31%.
In a surprise, Gov. Mike Huckabee finished second with 2587 votes at 18.1%
3. Sen. Sam Brownback with 2192 votes and 15.3%
4. Tom Tancredo with 1961 votes, 13.7%.
5. Ron Paul with 1305 votes, and 9.1%

The Iowa caucus is the first in the nation to take place in January to kick off the early primaries; however, a date has yet to be set in stone.

I was suprised more by the total lack of Rudy support more than anything. I realize he didn't really participate but come on he's supposed to be the front runner, you'd think he'd of gotten more than 1% of the vote. Romney was already assumed to win because he's been dumping time and money in Iowa for a while. Mike huckabee is a suprise though.

Hopefully Rudy will take this as a sign to drop out. HEHE, I can hope can't I.

Rudy is the front runner in national polls but not in the early states. Romney is leading in Iowa and New Hampshire. South Carolina looks to be a battle. And Rudy has a slight lead in Florida because that is where he has been spending a lot of time and money.

Same story with the Democrats. It's a 3-way tie in Iowa between Clinton, Obama, and Edwards.

I lived under Rudy Guiliani in NY.  If he is elected to any sort of higher power, I am heading for Canada.

Romney's the one with five cowards for kids who support the war but haven't enlisted yet?

His days are seriously numbered. Once people start finding out what the fireman and cops --from his home state-- think about him, he'll die an early death--Even Rupert Murdoch won't be in a position to save him.

I personally own over fifteen-hundred-feet of direct, commercial highway frontage that will be used solely for Anti-Wudy {And Billiary} placards should he/they--by luck-- get the nomination.

Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone did an article on Giuliani.  Said he would be worse than AnencephalyBoy.  Apparently, he lacks the social graces and down-home manners of AnencephalyBoy, but comes equipped with a similar inability to reason, the power to hold a grudge indefinitely, the same sort of inflexible insistence on it being his way or the highway, and a complete lack of a strong moral value system.

Was a rather fascinating article, although I am biased; I love Matt Taibbi's way of flensing the putrid flesh from politicians of every stripe and making their bones dangle in the breeze.

I guess the PR is working for those who haven't had to deal with the guy before.
