BUENA VISTA, Pa. - Inside the home's front door lay a bare, blood-soaked mattress and box spring.

The house was infested with fleas, the plumbing was backed up, much of the furniture was broken and the stench of cat urine filled the air.

Matthew Booth, 34, was lying face-up on the mattress when he was shot in the head early July 30. His 13-year-old daughter told investigators she used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot him in the face, a crime that her attorney said was precipitated by years of sexual abuse.

Widespread Panic -- Makes Sense to Me
Daniel Hutchens

...

Listen to a little girl, she was a runaway.
She said "My daddy treated me like a slave.
Soiled me in my momma bed when I was just 15.
That's why I had to lay him in his grave!"

Well, that makes sense to me
It makes sense to me, I must confess
That makes sense to me
It makes sense to me, I must confess

...

"She should have aimed lower"

Yes, she would fare alot better in court. It's a shame to say, but that is the truth. Most likely this girl does not need incarceration, except maybe for a short period. After that she needs to heal, and while I have broken people mentally and helped them rebuild for their own good, I am not that skilled at it.

I am a damn good amatuer, but I am not a pro. I can help someone beat an inferiority complex, things like that, but this girl needs alot more. I wonder if she will be out of therapy by the time she is 70. I doubt it.

People will abuse a child or allow that abuse to exist in our society. That should change, but probably never will. It makes a big mess.

Now mind you this, a Woman, IMO opinion, has every right to kill someone who forcibly raped her. I would help. But I have my doubts as to whether I could help them through it emotionally. I realize other people are not terminators, they cannot discard their feelings like an ace in the card game hearts.

The easiest way to bring solace to a girl like that is with religion, but one, I would never resort to it, and two, it could be rejected. She has been betrayed by BOTH Parents, and the legal system, and school system. She has faith in nobody at all right now. Not even herself. Not even in her self control, because she has killed someone who has not killed her.

That is beyond religion's reach.

The messy house means nothing, except for when you got animals and their droppings. Within reason, it is not required to be neat and clean to raise kids, but shit all over the place is unreasonable, even to me, a certified slob.

But the very first thing I would say to the girl would be "So you killed him". Points along the way :

Would you do it again ?
Did you feel relieved ?
What you did was totally within the law, but was illegal.
The problem is who it was.
There is no way you can handle this by yourself unless you are some kind of prophet on the mount or something. This is too heavy.

Horror story was a well chosen set of words.

More Pennsylvania crazy:
On the morning of March 21, with her house burning and her father nowhere to be found, Codee Wheeler stood calmly out front, dismissing those who had stopped to ask if she needed help, neighbors told police. That’s according to several similar statements given to police, who are now accusing Now she is accused of setting fire to her  home, killing her adoptive father, William Earl Wheeler. State police have charged Wheeler, who turned 17 today, with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, two counts of arson and related offenses, criminal mischief, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. She is being charged as an adult.

The accusation of sexual abuse does not by default mean it happened. Most likely? Yes - I will agree. But unless it's substantiated by fact then all we know for sure is that a murder was commited. Teenagers are capable of evil too... even female ones.

If it turns out she was abused, and the brother should be able to help us discover this, then my heart goes out to her. But none-the-less, she is not the 1st person to grow up under such unfortunate circumstances. Other's have and they have used their experience to propell themselves in arts, literature, science.. without having to kill anyone.

Murder is still murder.

I posted about another story, different from the first, in a county close to my geography, one rumor circulating about why the girl did this to her father.
